Question about Internet/Phone line 4 new property

Guys,
For new property, isn't Internet/Phone line consider as Basic Utilities akin with Power, Water & Sewerage?
Power & Water is similar to Phone, you got to register an account to use. Pay deposit, get CPE & commissioning etc.
Then for Sewerage, it's auto register for your unit whether you like it or not.
Is that correct?

For example, recently my friend got hold of his keys for his new condo, and he tried to register with TM, but the address of the condo isn't available in the system yet.

I've seen quite a number of establishments even some big name brands; not local brands; carrying Malaysia in their official facebook page or twitter etc. practising this.

I understand the need of wanting the winner to collect the prizes if its a big prizes worth a few hundreds or a thousand Ringgit.

But sometimes its not even more than RM50.00, and they expect those that helped shared their posts or marketing materials to spend the time, effort and money to go the appointed location(usually somewhere in Klang Valley) and collect the prizes.

The other option is to get a representative to collect on behalf, but not all people has someone to appoint, especially of something without much significant in value. And what's the point in asking someone to collect on behalf, when you still couldn't use or hold onto the prize?
And would still need your representative to courier it for you if you want it.

Need help from anyone that has a Nuzon HG-2500 Wireless Alarm type.
It could be any brand, doesn't have to be Nuzon, cause the unit is meant for OEM, so as long as the unit matches the the picture it's the same thing.

Does everything nowadays seems to be very Dirty?

I feel that almost every environment imaginable has become even dirtier as we progress, from Offices, Contests, Groups & even Schools.
It does feel thou that actually everything that is involved in having a bunch of people together tend to be Dirty, especially those with chain of commands.

Is it because people has become unsociable? Or has our human integrity became frail?

But one thing's for sure, it didn't started to happen just recently, it started a long long time ago.... It has become from bad to worse with every passing of generations. I find the song by Billy Joel - "We didn't start the fire" very appropriate.

But I do feel that we could "end the fire", all starting with "the man in the mirror".

Latest Kopitiam suggestion for Year 2009~!

Since Kopitiam is full of trash or spam or useless /b/ stuffs.
And its since has overwhelm our beloved Mods and Admins with so much threads to delete and stuff.

My suggestion goes like this...

We're been doing like Forummers opens thread then if inappropriate, it'll be reported then deleted by Mods. Its an endless cycle.
This was the old ways of doing it, since MOST threads of the old days outnumbered those Spams.

Why not try something like this..

A thread is created with a basic Expiry time, lets say 2-3 hours max, then with Mods casually browsing stuffs in Kopitiam,
Any Mod that comes across a worthy thread, he/she would be able to extend its Expiration, or extend it Indefinitely.
Or if possible, using the rating system WkKay did, the Expiration time could be extended when it hits a certain threshold.
And in saying that, the said threshold can also be manipulated by Mods to wager how forummers respond to the said thread.

So, lets say a thread that's getting lots of bad ratings could be Deleted automatically in the fastest time, let's say 30 minutes.
Or till its Expiration time, whether was the time extended by a Mod or from Ratings it got from forummers automatically.

In doing so, it could lift the burdens off the Mods shoulder, since they don't have to check every thread.
And being able to frolic in other parts of the spam free forum..

Offering Runner service for Penangites

I'm thinking of offering a Runner sort of service mostly for fellow Penangites forummers.
That are for those who is not confident enough of postage deals.
I'll be offering myself to buy stuff from LYP and bring the items back to Penang for CODs (at a minimal cost of course).

The schedule of my travel should be something like this -> go to KL and stay for around 1 week, and coming back to Penang for once a month, unless something unexpected comes up.

but, I'm not starting yet, so this thread exists for opinions, not a sales thread.
I'm also looking to know how much people wants this kinda service?

Hi guys... I'm having problems with my Konica Minolta DC. I attached some pictures for reference. I don't know the cause of the problem, hope you guys could help me out.

There's problems when the subjects are bright. Its ok when dark...

Oh... and from the net, I found out that Konica Minolta has pulled out of the Camera business, recommend me some places, if I need to send it in for repairs.
BTW, I could do some DIY repairs as well.

Something odd about tags

Hi all,

I've found something odd about the tags, I'm not sure if its intentionally done, but heck, I found it quite odd.

I'm not that good in explainining things in written words, pls bear my poor graps of England. LOL

As we all know, there're Tags to the right of the thread titles, e.g. Consoles in Garage Sales. Those tags are clickable to quickly filter out those threads bearing tags I'm interested, right? And though, there's a 2nd method to filter out those tags by goin to the bottom of the forum page to check on the tags n click filter.

Ok, here's wat's odd. If I would've click on the tag to the right of the thread titles, I'll get my page of filtered Threads wif the particular Tag that I've click, but its only for the 1st page, let's say i've finished browsing page 1, I click next page. On the 2nd page(or any pages I click), the forum comes unfiltered. But, it wont happen if I would use the 2nd method.

Hope u guys understand wat I've said.. LOL
