help me build desktop

im newbie here... i wan build a desktop... budget around 3.5k for cpu only... excluding OS
mostly for gaming purposes... if can, pls intro me asus motherboard
does my budget possible go for processor core i7 930 and a good graphic card???
n i only need 500gb for my harddisk
which sound card do u guys recommend?

im looking for a new laptop now. And i found 2 laptop which have the basic spec i wan... 1 is delll studio xps 16 and another is asus a52jr
any comment about them??? or can make some comparision for me??

or any other laptop??? i prefer dell and asus only
the spec i wan are
processor intel i5 or better
15" display
good cooling system (i hv changed many hardwares for my previous laptop because of overheating, so i wish not to face such problem again for my new laptop:))
mostly for gaming
budget is around 4k
