No battery present

hi guys, just needed some help with this issue. I currently own an Acer Aspire E5-553G running win10 for 4 years now.
Up till yesterday everything was fine until suddenly i saw my battery icon showing "plugged in, 255% available and no battery present".

things ive done to troubleshoot includes,

1. Power cycle (i have a built in battery so i kinda figured this method was useless for my case)

2. upgrade BIOS (which was already the latest version)

3. Disable, enable, uninstall and reinstall battery driver

4. troubleshoot power options in Win10.

none of them seem to work and im still stuck with this issue. any kind soul please help me out?

thanks mates.

weird cpu and gpu temp

Ok I have been experiencing a few issues with my intel rig lately. My specs are

Core i5-650@3.2ghz
Msi mobo (model unsure but mitx)
Nvidia gtx 460 786mb
Cooler master 550w real power psu
Mushkin blackline 1x4gb ddr3

During idle times... both the gpu and cpu goes up above 60 degrees but the moment I moved the mouse it drops significantly. Im talking loosing 20 degrees@40 degrees within 2 seconds.

I know its not a false reading as msi afterburner, hw monitor and bios show the same fluctuations.
The fan also slows down significantly which makes it clear that the pc temp is really fluctuating. Help?

[GUIDE] Rooting any HTC phone

hey there folks, i'm the proud owner of a HTC Wildfire S and lately, its been a total pain to be unable to root this device. I am posting out this guide primarily for the HTC Wildfire S owners who intend to root their phone but bare in mind that this tool will root just about any HTC phone (android gingerbread 2.3). IT IS FULLY TESTED.

Also, this is my first ever written guide so please do forgive my mistakes
Be sure to have a fully charged HTC phone for this procedure.

The items/softwares required are

1) HTC SuperTool v3
2) Google Android SDK
3) Latest Version of Java
4) Latest HTC SYNC (for windows only)

You shall hold me credit for this as all credit goes to the guys over at http://forum.xda-developers.com for their contributions and also to www.htcdev.com.

WARNING!!..

Rooting and unlocking the bootloader of your phone may VOID WARRANTY Terms and Conditions and also BRICK your device.
Always backup important content becauseDATA WILL BE WIPED OUT TOTALLY.

Before we begin, this method has worked for my wildfire S and i do not see a reason why it wont for any other HTC phone. However, i will not be responsible for your loss of data and possibly the malfunctioning of the device. Do this at your own risk.

For an S-On device, you will fist be unlocking the bootloader
If your bootloader is already S-off Please Proceed to step 4.

For the S-on Devices,

1) Register at www.htcdev.com and go to Unlock Bootloader.
2) Scroll and click on your phone model.
3) Follow the on-board instructions (Foolproof!!)

If your phone model requires a HBOOT update, download the ROM from HTCDEV and follow the webpage instructions on how to install it.

If you happen to get an "Error 191:ROM Is Not Supported" while updating your HBOOT, then you will need to follow these following steps :

(Please ignore these steps if you have no problem updating your HBOOT or that if it is already updated)
(Credits to Nith2 from forum.xda-developers.com)

i) just bought this HTC Wildfire S A510e model number PG76100 (found behind the battery, just below the SIM card slot)

ii) After accepting all the terms and agreements for unlocking my bootloader at HTCDEV, there is a list of ROMS, their were a few options for the model that I have PG76100, so I downloaded the HTC Asia India RUU

iii) Ok so if you end up running the RUU it will tell you that the ROM is out of date with an error message, what I found out is that when you first open the RUU (this is if you run Windows) their will be a Temp folder made with all the files that the RUU needs to run, if you search the Temp Folder (usually found under the user folder in Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temp) these files will only exist if you leave the RUU Program open, so just open it up and move the window to the side, search under the Temp folder for rom. This folder might be hidden so please enable view of all hidden folders before proceeding.

iv) You will find 2 zip folders named rom_01 and rom_02, copy these 2 zips to your desktop

v) Now change the name of rom_01 (im not 100% sure if its 01 or 02 that you need to do first, I cant remember) to PG76IMG and copy it over to a microSD, insert into your phone and boot into HBoot, it will go through the normal process of detecting and then opening the zip and will ask you if you wish to update the radio to v2 (it should only ask to update the radio, because you need to do it first before you use the second file which asks to update both the radio and hboot) allow to do so and it will do its thing and when completed ask to reboot.

vi) Now change the name of the second rom (if I have the order right this should be rom_02) to PG76IMG, remove the first file you put on the microSD and replace it with second, back into HBoot, it will read the file and ask you to update HBoot and Radio, allow it to do so and it will update the HBoot, should say OK next to HBoot, once completed it will ask to be rebooted

vii) To check that this has all happened correctly, go back into HBoot (remove your microSD before this) and you should have a pink box up the top stating *LOCKED* if you see this and your HBoot version is now 1.08.0099 (if you used the RUU that I did) you are now ready to go through the HTCdev Bootunlock process

After successfully unlocking/S-Off your device from HTCDEV, you may now proceed to root the phone (FINALLY)

4) download and install latest HTC DRIVER. (already in latest HTC Sync if you have it)
5) Download Super tool v3.
6) extract it to a new folder via Winzip/Winrar.
7) connect your phone to the computer using your USB Data Cable on charge only mode
8) Go to the extracted files and doucle click SUPER TOOL to run the program.
9) you will see a menu with numbers indication their actions, choose any procedure you want like rooting, unlock bootloader etc.

And there you go... your phone is officially rooted! To check, see if "superuser" is installed. if it is, then it is rooted.

you may now enjoy your new fully rooted HTC with some custom roms and get rid of all unwanted apps using root explorer (downloadable from market)

please do post your results here
