Hi guys, not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here goes.

Recently, I can't connect to the internet for days. I complained to TMNET and a
technician came to check for the problem. After all the checking, he found that my
house old telephone wiring (more than 30 years old) is the problem and said the old
wire need to be changed and it will cost me RM150.

As I don't know the real price for replacing the old telephone wire, is RM150
reasonable? Appreciate your reply.

Disabling Windows Management Instrumentation

Hello there!

My computer recently became sluggish and found out wmiprvse.exe is the culprit. I know that it's a
service under the Administrative Tool > Services > Windows Management Instrumentation. I'm
wondering what will happen to my OS if I disable it in the services. I tried the mighty google but
not much I can find.

How to deal with stupid and stubborn footballers

A football field is located infront of my house and every evening there is a group of people come
to play football there. Eventhough a 15-foot fence is erected there but it is not enough to stop the
ball from flying into my house compound, hitting my house windows, gate, car, porch ceiling.

I talked to them nicely and what I got in return were very rude and sometimes threatening replies.

Anyone has this problem before? How to deal with this kind of people?

PC hangs at shut down

I'm current using Riger DB102 modem to connect to the internet. The problem is everytime I disconnect from TMNET,
the TMNET Streamyx dialer would stop responding and I have to terminate that program in the Windows Task Manager.

After that when I proceed to shut down the PC, windows will always hang on "Saving Your Settings" and doesn't seem
to respond. In the end, I have to "force" the PC to shut down by pressing the "ON" button on the casing for 5 seconds
and I'm worry sooner or latter my windows will be corrupted by this.

So can anyone here please lend me a hand regarding this problem? I really appreciate any help and advice here.

Dear all PC gurus,

While searching for a virus-infected file, I found these files.

Just curious, what are these files? They are located in Documents and Settings > User (Your Name) >
Application Data > BITS > Torrent

There are a lot of files and some has filenames such as .torrent.~tmp, .torrent.statistic, .torrent.hybridlist.
So, is it safe to delete these files?

[WTA] Boot up WinXP from 2 HD

Here's my problem:

My PC has 2 harddisks, one SATA and the other IDE and both are installed with Windows XP. There used
to be no problem booting up using either Windows until today when I reformatted my SATA harddisk.
There's nothing wrong with my IDE harddisk, but I can't use its Windows.

Before the reformatting, every time I switch on my PC, there used to be an option of booting up either into
first Windows or second Windows. But now, this option is gone. Although the IDE harddisk is accessible like
a spare disk, my question is, how can I get that boot up option back.

Any helps are high appreciated.

I took out my old Pentium II mobo and put it into a new atx casing but then realised that I've lost the manual.
Now I don't know which wires (power led, reset etc) from the new casing should be connected to the mobo.

I bought one recently and noticed that the STATUS and LAN leds keep blinking.
I checked all my cables and everything seemed find. And I've no problem accessing
the internet but I would to ask are the blinking leds normal?
