[WTA] Macbook Air Rev A - Logic Board problem

Hi guys,

My Macbook Air, which is out of warranty, had a hinge problem which Apple is willing to fix FOC but when they called me again, told me that the logic board is broken plus need to change the thermal module. So now, instead of FOC, i need to pay RM2251 to get it repaired. They said that it is a separate problem from the hinge and hence will not be covered. Could the hinge problem somehow affect the logic board physically? Anyone else with this problem?

Also, any advise on what my options are? Can i buy a new logic board to fix myself? Is this cheaper? Bearing in mind, i am hopeless in DIY.

This is so frustrating. Am thinking of selling that off to get a new laptop.

Would be grateful for any advise.
