Many celebrities have been visiting Malaysia—and why wouldn’t they? Malaysia is renowned as one of the most beautiful countries in Southeast Asia.

Recently, Kae Asakura famously known as Rae Lil Black was in Kuala Lumpur, sparking joy among her fans.

Rae, who has a significant following in the adult film industry (yes, porn), announced her trip on Twitter, and her Malaysian fans eagerly anticipated meeting her.

During her time in Malaysia, Rae shared several sweet moments on her social media accounts.

In one of her TikTok videos, she visited Dataran Merdeka, the iconic independence square of Kuala Lumpur.
Respectful of the local culture, she donned a scarf over her head, a gesture that was appreciated by her fans.

In another video, Rae enjoyed Malaysia’s iconic dish, Nasi Kandar.

From her enthusiastic expression, it was clear that she loved the local cuisine.

She even captioned the video in Bahasa Malaysia: “Sedap nasi kandar malam-malam.” (It is delicious to eat Nasi Kandar every night).

However, not everything went smoothly during her visit. In a distressing tweet, Rae mentioned that she was “stalked and even grabbed” while walking on the streets of Kuala Lumpur.

Maxis router as mesh, good idea?

Seems to me that the cheapest and good (maybe) mesh node is the kaon 2140 maxis router, currently selling 2nd hand for around RM100. A big plus point is it's light, good range (I think) as well as support for the open EasyMesh instead of something proprietary like onemesh aimesh decomesh etc.

Is it really a good idea? Or are there better mesh routers/nodes for RM100 a piece?

Windows 11 is still one of the hottest topics in the world of technology. A few days after we reported on a new video which discusses the Windows 11 upgrade in more detail, Microsoft has now dealt with the reactions from countless upset customers. Apart from the fact that Windows 11's system requirements cannot be bypassed in the final release version of the operating system, the tone in which Microsoft has addressed the issue so far has been met with anger.

In the aforementioned video, Microsoft employee Aria admitted that the situation "sucks" for customers with incompatible hardware, but that everyone else would enjoy the resulting improvements in terms of security and productivity. Users whose devices are soon to be stuck on Windows 10 (from US$129 on Amazon) apparently did not appreciate this kind of reasoning.

Due to the large amount of negative reactions, Microsoft has closed the comment section under the YouTube video, which included the deletion of all previously posted comments. Before they were erased, users shared speculations that Microsoft introduced the overly stringent system requirements in order to sell more new devices, from which the Redmond-based software company would benefit greatly due to the included Windows licenses. Considering that the video has garnered almost 1000 dislikes and less than 100 likes so far, it's likely that this was not Microsoft's final battle in its effort to gain control over the narrative that is revolving around the controversial Windows 11 upgrade requirements.

Why do people buy F series Intel CPU?

Is it a lot cheaper? Haven't bought a CPU in a long time, so I don't really know.

Personally I feel that it's not a good idea, since basically you're getting a GPU for free, even if it's crap.

-Microsoft says it can use photos and voice recordings to create a 2D or 3D rendering of the person, and even give the chatbot their voice.
-This is all a little bit too reminiscent of an episode of Black Mirror wherein the main character talks to an AI version of her late partner.

Last month, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office granted a patent to Microsoft that outlines a process to create a conversational chatbot of a specific person using their social data. In an eerie twist, the patent says the chatbot could potentially be inspired by friends or family members who are deceased, which is almost a direct plot of a popular episode of Netflix's Black Mirror.

In that episode, "Be Right Back," a woman named Martha is upset when her partner, Ash, dies in a car accident on the day they were supposed to move in with each other. It turns out one of Martha's friends has signed her up for a service that will let her communicate with Ash through text messages. Of course, it isn't really Ash, but a sort of AI-based version of him. Suffice to say, things get weird.

According to the new Microsoft patent, images, voice data, social media posts, electronic messages, and written letters can all be used to "create or modify a specific index in the theme of the specific person's personality." From there, engineers can use the index to train a chatbot to converse like that person—yes, even if they're already dead.

This sort of chatbot opens a whole can of worms when it comes to data rights and privacy. "Technically, we can recreate anyone online given enough data," Faheem Hussain, a clinical assistant professor at Arizona State University’s School for the Future of Innovation in Society, told Reuters in April 2020. "That opens up a Pandora’s box of ethical implications."

The question boils down to consent: Anyone who has access to data like text messages, photos, videos, and audio recordings from the deceased could theoretically create a virtual avatar of the person, even if they'd never agree to such a thing while living. You can thank a lack of regulation in most countries surrounding post-mortem data.

Now, patents aren't always perfect proxies for new products. In many cases, companies pursue patents for wholly different reasons, including to protect against future competition. Securing the intellectual property rights for this sort of chatbot could certainly be Microsoft's way of ensuring it will have a place in any future market devoted to AI-based renderings of late loved ones.

That doesn't mean Microsoft will ever produce something to this effect. The company could sell off the patent to another firm that wants to get into the chatbot space in the future, for example. There's always the possibility this idea will never take off, and it will remain where it is right now: floating in the ether.

And frankly, that might not be such a bad thing.

An unstable approach, a misaligned helmet and an “overwhelmed” flight control system led to the crash of an Air Force F-35 at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida last May. An Air Force accident report released a few weeks ago found plenty of fault with the pilot’s actions but it was ultimately the airplane that wouldn’t allow itself to be saved. The plane’s overworked processor set the horizontal stabilizers to the “default” position of trailing edge down just as the pilot initiated a go-around to try his landing again. When the aircraft didn’t respond to firewalled throttle and full back pressure on the stick, the pilot ejected and the plane rolled, caught fire and disintegrated. The pilot suffered minor injuries and the aircraft, worth $175,983,949, became a debris field.

The aircraft was on a night training flight and was landing at Eglin at 9:26 p.m. on May 19 when the accident occurred. The pilot was distracted by a misaligned helmet that was showing him erroneous head-up display information and didn’t shut off a “speed hold” feature that maintained an airspeed of 202 knots. That’s 50 knots faster than the 152-knot touchdown speed of the F-35. The aircraft was also at a 5.2 degree angle of attack when the manual calls for 13.2 degrees. The result was a floating three-point landing followed by pilot-induced porpoising. As the pilot tried to salvage the landing with rapid control inputs, the flight control computer couldn’t keep up and went to the default nose-down setting. “With the horizontal stabilizers set in this trailing edge down position, the [pilot] then input full aft stick for approximately three seconds and selected maximum afterburner (AB) in an unsuccessful attempt to set a go around attitude before successfully ejecting from the [aircraft].”

An earlier version of this story incorrectly used the term “glideslope” instead of angle of attack in describing the aircraft’s landing attitude.

State media in Beijing claimed Wednesday that one of the Chinese air force’s new J-20 stealth fighters shot down 17 “enemy” planes while also avoiding return fire during recent mock combat.

A 17-to-zero kill ratio isn’t unheard-of when a a new fighter type goes up against older types in a training exercise. Still, there are good reasons to doubt Chinese media’s claim.

For one, it’s not obvious how a single J-20 could “shoot down” 17 simulated enemies when the J-20’s standard maximum weapons load is just eight missiles—and the J-20 doesn’t have a gun as back-up.

It however is obvious why Beijing in mid-September would push a story about the J-20’s supposed aerial prowess. As mountain standoff between Chinese and Indian troops enters its fifth month, New Delhi has been buying new fighters. The Chinese air force in response deployed at least two J-20s to western China.

Chinese state media is keen to highlight the stealth fighter’s purported capabilities. “Despite being heavily outnumbered, a Chinese People's Liberation Army pilot scored a 17-to-zero victory against opponents with a newly commissioned fighter jet in a recent combat exercise,” Global Times reported on Tuesday, citing information from PLA Daily.

“Many clues suggest that the aircraft the pilot flew was likely the J-20, China's most advanced stealth fighter jet,” Global Times continued. “If the speculation turns out to be true, the exercise result again demonstrated the absolute superiority the J-20 has over its previous generation counterparts.”

It’s not clear what types the J-20 flew against. The Chinese air force’s main fighters all are variants of the 1980s-vintage Russian Su-27. The radar-evading J-20 first flew in 2011. The PLAAF reportedly possesses around 40 of the new planes.

It’s equally unclear how a J-20 with its eight-missile load-out could shoot down 17 targets in a single event. It’s possible the war game’s rules allowed the J-20 pilot to fight for a period of time, “reload” with virtual munitions then return to the mock battle.

Derek Chauvin, the officer in question was likely known to Floyd as the two had previously worked together as bouncers at the same club for over a decade.

This was confirmed by Maya Santamaria, who is former owner of El Nuevo Rodeo.

“Chauvin was our off-duty police for almost the entirety of the 17 years that we were open,” Santamaria told KSTP.

“They were working together at the same time, it’s just that Chauvin worked outside and the security guards were inside.”

Santamaria also told the TV station that Chauvin “had a real short fuse,” adding that he often pulled out mace and pepper spray when she thought it was unwarranted.
