recommendation of travel sim card

this few months been to Thailand and Japan. As traveler SIM card is a must have items for travelling, so i saw a ads regards this and been purchase from their web for the thai and japan sim card. Both been work well and thinking of recommend it to lowyat member.
For thai sim, it is cheaper than buying in thai. Thailand is selling 299 bath and the web only sell at RM30, the beauty of it will be plug and use, without the hassle for registration. My last year trip spend me 30 mins for buying the card and register in airport telco counter. BTW, if there is any issue with this local bought sim card, i can still go any DTAC shop for assistance.
As for the Japan SIM card, it is also sell cheaper than you bought in Japan. The strongest point of the card be it come with various Japan top merchant voucher which you cant get in other sim card merchant in Japan. Only with this Malaysia bought sim card, you can download various shopping/dining voucher. The amount that i save is more thsn i spend on the sim card. They do hae other country sim card like HK/TAIWAN/KOREA

owned a bakery shop in jb area, found that food truck bakery seems that be a good idea as there isn't such similar concept yet in the market ( freshly bake from truck ), anyone has experience on this similar trade and mind to share? sometime we may just think of the positive and overlook the negative. Currently i am running on physical shop and it be able for me to compare both pro and con.

we been cooperate with Daihatsu and plan to roll out mobile bakery truck in JB. A recon truck from Japan with equipment which cost 60k , we have 2 plans for any interested party.

1) Fix income: will gain RM1500 fix income per month from this business, all other expenses like insurance, maintainance etc will borne by the shop, mean the RM1500 will be nett income.

2) Profit sharing: will base on the products sales.

we are the first mobile truck which bake the product on the spot, it will attract many customer who like freshly bake products. Our main core will be bread, polo bun, tart, croissant.

This business bear no rental, utilities fees, high wages, therefore the percentage of seuccess will much higher than physical shop.

Business always be a risk, but for this business, even perform not good as what you expect, you can anytime sell off the truck and gain back some capital unlike physical shop which may cost you a total lost, as we know renovation cost is a non value item.

the truck will split to 2 shift and morning/night market, bank, school, heavy human traffic areas will be out target area.

owned a bakery cum cafe in jb area and would like to explore into other location in jb too, shall establish bakery only theme shop without cafe. The overhead shall much lower than cafe style operation. With lower overhead, the break even point shall be more lower and easier to achieve. Anyone interest may has some products testing and more understand on the biz structure.

recently been setting up a 2 shop lots adjoining bakery cafe in JB area, the renovation been nearly complete and expected to open soon. As we are taking second hand machine from another bakery shop and later found out that the production was below our sales estimation. So now we need either invite new investor to come in and has extra fund to purchase new machine or we need to starting saving sales fund to purchase it. Our chef got great baking skill and seems it is waste if we cant fully production in the first place. As current business, the first impression certainly very important for customer. we certainly hope that can be start in perfect way but the initial fund been utilize for other renovation/equipment fees. So if there is someone familiar or interest in partner or machine provider to bakery , maybe can sort out some plan,. after you seen our menu and you will know this plan can be work and be waste if cant start in perfect way.

export halal food to Muslim country

recently met my friend who stay oversea for more than 20 years, both of us do think that the muslim market shall be a big pie to explore in. He intend to set up trading company in oversea who distribute into various Muslim market, i will responsible to sources for local product from SEA country.

As for Malaysia, our advantage shall be our HALAL logo are well accepted worldwide.
Anyone do have export experience may share with me or anyone who involve in production may contact me also. Or maybe anyone who want to invest in it may also further discuss as capital may play a major role in this also.
My friend will handle all the related custom/health issue, our part will act as buyer mainly.

i am in F&B business for years....Thinking of expand to other industry/business. My friend introduce me a auto vending machine to me and i am quite interested in it. Save rental, stable income, no labour problem.....
But the factory need minimum of 10 units only agree to sell it to me. One unit cost more than 40K ...expected income per month per unit can easily 2k to 10k depend the location. This business is long term stable income, only risk will be people not drinking fresh juice anymore.

just wonder any opinion on vending machine biz( i plan to place in school/shopping mall where is more secure place )

or anyone might want to join in for the pioneer stage. I would said this machine do have a WOW factor and might get the consumer attention when we place in the market. Anyone interested may PM me

planning to start a central kitchen who prepare some bento food in order to capture office crowd and shopping mall's staff. Seeking some advice from any member here?

1) products: either in malay set meal or Japanese bento? if start in Malay set meals, sure will have many conflicts interest with current illegal stalls/mobile truck also since we are selling same item of food. If Japanese Bento will sure be the only one. But will the customer frequent us like Malay set meals? if customer just eat once in two weeks for such meal, we will suffer also. If japanese bento, some of the sushi item may be list out also as aim for some female customer who dont have heavy lunch?

2) price : range around 6.90 to 7.90 for japanese bento food shall be attractive?

3) investor: if i plan to just concentrate on central kitchen/promotion, get some investor to buy the truck, we supply the sources/driver, what will be the expected return? Will assuming 5% per month will able to attract them in this business? we cant commit to high return as we are selling at competitive price and this is a guarantee return with minimal risk. As we supply the bento and will take back all the unsold items, so every single dollar profit will be nett profit for the investor..

for those shopping mall with unable to park the truck at any empty space, then may try to get a small place at one of the shop as consignment goods.

as the biz really is bad, they may just sell back the truck to the dealer and may be to lose out 10k or less as depreciation of value. If they not intend to risk out such low amount, i wont encourage them to be in business also, better put in FD.

F&B biz at Klia2

just started a f&b business at KLIA2 month ago,the crowd is huge but the spending pattern is totally different with normal shopping mall. We have analysis it and would like to launch a new concept in near term.Will there any comment for those been to klia2 and suggestion for the f&b? The main problem seem everybody flow into fast food restaurant only as they do have perception all the cafe/restaurant in klia2 is much expensive than other, therefore they will priority choose fast food restaurant. Frankly speaking, the price is around the same as previous LCCT.

As myself been put in all my fund in this biz , therefore will there any f&b expert or investor would like to take the risk with me and invest on it. The total fund been put in been more than 560k, we are looking at least 100 to 150k to come in as fresh fund to rectify the place as well as putting on new image. This is puasa month and will be slow in business, it will be the best time to revamp. Pls pm if if anyone interested on it. BTW, you must be risk taker as there are no guarantee on the investment, i am taking the huge risk also. currently we have 2 partners in the biz at moment and run by manager.

i am running a express cafe in KLIA2, by then been a lot offer from other mall for us to start a similar cafe in their location. After serious consideration and i think that food court stall may be a better choice compare to individual shop lot base on invest and return. I do have offer from food junction to run 2 food court kiosk at their opening soon location. Anyone willing to share their idea on pro and con for running stall in those big food court?

i am starting beverage and snack kiosk business 2 years before and by luck and opportunity i have start a express cafe in recently opening HOT location. Therefore there are some mall management approach me to have new shop/stall in their various mall as they have try my food and seen my business method in my HOT location.
As i have just invest more than 500k ( with partner ) for the HOT location and shall be financial tight if need to explore into new location.
After study the current market trend, i certainly feel that food court kiosk will be one of the better option in future as we expect market to be slow down due to GST and ....but people will still need to eat. The consumer may turn to the lower price range choice such as food court.
I got 2 offers from them which under Food junction and shall open at Sept and December ( in opposite sheraton imperial sultan ismail and putrajaya ). I do have those individual lot offer from mall management also, but i do not think it be right time yet a i foreseen market be slowing down, therefore i go for food court kiosk.
Just wonder anyone with or without FNB experience would like to join me to further explore into this business. You may just opt for food court segment or you want to join as a group which include my HOT location. We may have a discussion. Just to give you some detail, food court will free rental but charge by percentage of sales and my HOT location will be change by fix rental or % of sales which ever is higher.
Current i am selling bento food but not limited to Japanese food, i am serving also local delight but i just serve in disposable bento style.

How to explore into both bumi/non bumi market

i am currently running few kiosk/stall in Japanese supermarket snack corner's,it is commission base without rental/utilities fees. I am selling drinks and some taiwanese snack. The business is not so well due to lack of management people to run the show. I myself is concentrating in another project.
Recently i got a new partner who is a chef in one of the established restaurant from Perak. He going to supply and teach my staff to freshly bake a speciality bread in my kiosk,i will also cancel out some of my snack product to mainly focus on the bread which i think can expand with potential( like rotiboy/paparoti)
Now the problem is although the food is non pork and halal license will apply once started business,but how to attract malay customer to purchase it?
If our printing material with chinese wording,they may not want to patron us. But if we only writing ion English,will some of the chinese will not know what is it as normally they know this product by the chinese name,at the end i loss out both market?
Now i do have prime location ( 2 of top 4 malls in Klang valley ) with a potential products,so i will need someone to run the show also. Any experience member would want to share some idea? Or join me to explore the market? The best of my business to to utilize the current free rental location to familiar the business operation before dump in big money to start those high rental location.

i start up a f/b kiosk in one of the Japanese leading store few months ago . it is commission base with no rental type.Business is expanding fast and management problem been arise . I have current 2 leading location in Klang valley (MV/OU) ,one in Penang and going to have another 2 in Taiping and bukit mertajam within 6 months.
currently i am selling drinks and snack and intend to bring in a famous bread into the business( freshly bake in front of customer). i believe it will success as customer like fresh cook thing and bake in front of them.
Now,i just lack a partner to handle all the daily management work as i am busy with other project. My current partner just employ foreign worker and visit kiosk once in the while,this has cause the business is running slow.
The new partner:
invest 160k for 70% share and i remain 30% as my role will be communicate with the management to get new location.
Out of the 160k, 80k will return to me as capital,25k will set up central kitchen to produce the bread/drinks...balance will be inject for working capital( build up two new kiosk as well as doing some revamp for current kiosk as well as buying 2 oven for baking need)
this partner need to handle all daily operation issue.
the central kitchen not only supply to own kiosk but also to my another project as well as some of the chain restaurant which i do have the contact,so this be another income.

retain 100% or sell some for better cash flow?

few months ago i been partner with a guy to start a f&b business in an exclusive location,although the rental is high but the crowd number will justify the rental. But,unfortunately he pass away a month ago and i need to take up his portion in the share holding. So my stand by cash flow been use up to buy out his share. Our paid up is 500k and i will left a bit of fund only to start up the business, should i sell up some of the share at premium price or just start it at low cash flow reserve? If i sell out sure will reduce my profit if any but will help me to start with more cash reserve.

hereby some business detail:

location : exclusive area, there will without any similar mall exist within 5/10 km radius in 15 or 20 years. No shophouse or illegal warung/van around it.
traffic: guarantee min 30 millions human traffic per year plus work force of 20,000 or more at that area.
competitor: i am selling manly oriental food with bento set,dim sum,noodles, porridge,snacks. Direct competitor will be 2 or 3 which locate one floor above me. at my floor will have 2 local kopitiam and those fast food like kfc
operation hour : 24 hour

total f/b will be around 20 to 30 outlets but the crowd number is similar to mid valley. Assuming mid valley only got 25 outlet for f&b and you can imagine the market share they got ( at moment they do have min 80 to 100 f&b )

i can see the huge potential, so will you ask somebody to came and share the pie or you will take the risk to start with lower cash reserve.

I do have a chance to start a f&b business at gateway@KLIA2, this the new terminal building for all the budget airline. Expected 40 million passenger as well as 20,000 work force within it. This mall is a compulsory pass by place for all of the passenger as what they call airport within a mall. just like most of the airport, they will have 2 sections of the f&b, one type will be before check in counter/immigration ( public area ) and another one will be after ( duty free zone/restricted zone).
For my case, i usually have my food/drinks after the immigration as i just want to clear things in priority rather than having food first. If most of the passenger do it the same, those f&b business at gateway( the shopping mall before check in) may not be a good option for business? The rental is higher than KLCC, it consider not on the high side if base on human traffic.
