tax for room rental income

Hi,

I have a question if i own 2 houses, one is rental out the whole unit and another one is rental out 2 rooms where I'm still staying in master room.

Question:

1. I declare the 2nd house room rental income in LHDN. Can I deduct the rental taxable income with maintenance, bank loan interest and etc? If yes, what is the calculation would be? 100% of the eligible expenses or partially?

2. Can I combine the expenses and income for both houses?

i try to paint plaster ceiling myself with first layer sealer but my bad painting skill cause it peel off for quite a large area...

e-warranty

is it the e-warranty cannot be transferable?
if i bought a used phone with e-warranty left 5 months, can I continue with the 5 months warranty?
I saw samsung website showing the warranty only for the original purchaser and not transferable, is that mean there is no warranty from factory if you bought used phone?

Tax relief 2009 for own stay house

Hi all,

Based on the mini budget 2009, there is a RM10,000 tax relief on interest paid for housing loan in own stay property.

I have a few question hope anyone can help to asnwer it.

1. I have a rental income property and if i get the 2nd house for own stay, is that eligible for the tax relief? Based on the statement in the pdf above, it seems like YES as long as the property doesn't bring any income.

2. If the own stay house is joint with friends, is that eligible for tax relief? If yes, the interest for tax relief will be divide to number of owners in same amount? or we can decide the portion for housing loan interest ownself as long as the total is same as the total interest paid?

3. If we start to pay the housing loan from May 10, the tax relief is eligible for year 2010, 2011 and 2012, am I right?
