use for external of the car, for aesthetic

not those reflective type, it wont stick after a few car wash.

Towing coverage for old cars

Had an awful experience on last Saturday where my 22 years old car alternator died on a busy road..

Called the insurer and to my surprise, no free towing despite emphasizing I wanted a towing service tied to the insurance..

Paid rm150 for towing service to the workshop.

I read that AAM does not cover cars exceeding 20 years..

Apart from this, is there anymore options to consider..

changing engine hoses

hi,

wanna ask if anyone had change their engine hoses to the samco / silicon type?

in one of my road trip, the intercooler joint actually loosen.. and causes a lot of heat built up in the engine.
the car was actually tow to a nearby workshop, nothing much is being done, was told the joint actually came off and it's advisable to have my hoses replace.

Currently, i'm still on old / stock hoses, 4G63T, mitsu engine.

I'm thinking of changing to the samco / silicon type to prevent such incidents from happening again.
Apart from the intercooler, what are the other hoses that i can change?
was told there's a lot of generic samco in the market, anyone tried them?

lastly, any workshop to recommend in johor bahru?

Hi,

Currently my ceiling and walls are turning yellowish especially the area that are near to bathroom or kitchen.

I guess it's the moisture.

What are these stains? Mould or fungus?

I'm thinking of redoing the paint, what should I go for?

I read between 2.0 & 2.4, 2.4 is the recommended type but i dont see a lot of reviews about this car.

20 years old car, high fuel consumption, leaking and noisy.
ISC faulty, clutch seems to have sand in them.

was told to do full overhaul.

went to my usual motorsport and was quoted the following price:

Full overhaul gasket set, metal 2.0mm - Rm480
piston ring set, standard - RM145
conrod bearing set - RM130
head skimming - RM60
engine oil + filter - rm205
gear oil - rm60
full overhaul labor - rm500
Total: RM1580

turbo repair, rm1378
brand new, td05 20g at rm1.7k

is this reasonable?

like to hear more views before I put the hard earn money to it..

either upgrading the size, proclaim highly rpm etc.

is there a need actually?
Does it really works?

by changing to such 'high speed fan', will it really make your car temp lower?

stock spring

hello.

I drove a savvy for the last 10 years and this little car, served me well.
intend to change the absorber when I hit 200k, however I find that the stock spring.. is kinda soft.

I'm not looking at lowered nor sport.
I appreciate comfort as this is my daily transport to work.

Hence my questions, do we need to change stock spring?
any suggestions that I can consider to replace the stock savvy spring?

Turbo dilemma

Had an old school evo 3 engine (4g63t). Stock
No modification done.

It has been like that since I got it 3 year back..
Can only boost to 0.5, anything more. . The whole engine will cough as if it got tb. .

Seen many doctors but none seems to know why..

What I have done so far.
New fuel pump
New cable plug
Iridium spark plug
Change wastegate
Change manifold
Change turbo exhaust pipe
Change downpipe

No leak in turbo, in intercooler piping.

My current mechanic also puzzled.. he done many evo engine and mine is really an case of its own..
The next check, is probably the ecu..

Anyone experiences such issue before?
Please share with me your views.

Don't ask me to sell it.. I'm keeping and repairing it as a passion ..

battery reading and size

Hello,

wanna ask about car battery.

For example: I have a car battery used in my savvy
- bosch, 65B24LS, 52AH, 480A

I did a google but can't find anything relevant or informative on the reading.

65B - refer to the size?
24LS refer to the battery terminal position, I thought all cars battery terminal are standard? Red and black.

I understand a good battery can last 2-3 years.

So far, I tried amaron and bosch, freakly speaking, I do like the quality of bosch and its made in korea.
My perdana's is already on the 2 year mark and going well, (least it seems)

as I hardly drive my perdana.

Was wondering if I can share the same battery size on my perdana and savvy.

Since savvy is a daily car, I will use it for 1.5 years then transfer to perdana.
Thats' provide it can fit and match.
My perdana is an evo 3, alternator at 90A.

Please share with me your expertise and knowledge, thank you
