HFR2-SU3S2 RAID0 harddisk issue

Hi,

I just buy HFR2-SU3S2 4 bay box around 4 months and right now there are harddisk issue with it.

The harddisk indicator is all blue when power up with Raid0 spanning but the xH error indicator is red which means 1 of my hard disk having problem.

How can I recover all the data from all the hard disk since the box is not detected in my PC (Windows 7) and my data inside is quite alot with 3TB x 4 with only 15GB freespace left.

Can I unplug the harddisk from the box and plug in as external to my pc?(Have try to plug in it as external in linux but can't be readable) What software is recommended in order for me to recover the data inside?(Not sure whether its software raid or hardware raid or firmware raid)

PC spec for Graphic design

Hi Guys,

Want your opinion regarding my situation.

Here it is:

I will do many jobs regarding 3d design, graphic image, HD video processing and so on as my freelance work is more on that area/field.

And I need your opinion to decide which is the best for my situation here.

I need a new pc spec for my old hardware replacement and I have budget around 6k here.

which one is my best option in order to get the workhorse that can last longer with 5 years minimum since its not easy for me to dig up my pocket for big budget like this. Below is the condition:

1. The best workhorse that I can get based on my budget.
2. Must can be last for 5 years minimum.
3. Cannot decide between high end configure PC specifically for my job above or just get the option from Apple hardware.
4. Easy to move but no laptop please (easy to bring to anywhere when needed)
5. I need a PC no laptop but if you can justify and pleased me that laptop is suitable maybe can consider but right now its no-no.
6. Minimum requirement for the work, can be use to build full animation like Upin Ipin or HD video duration 2 hours without lag or crash.

Based from what I had in my mine, this is my consideration:

1. PC spec with i7 and 32GB ram or more (if the slot is possible to do that. but minimum is 4 slot) and Quadro or Ati Firepro graphic.
2. Mac mini
3. Mac Pro
4. iMac

Please advice guys.....

Buying item from ebay

Hi,

I have one situation here.

I wanted to buy an item from ebay but the seller didn't ship to malaysia. I know we can use the forwarder service to get US address and also they will ship it back to malaysia when we tell them to do so.

However, the seller state that he will Shipping to confirmed Paypal addresses only. Currently my paypal address is stated in Malaysia and it link to my debit card. Anybody have any idea to overcome this?

I don't want to create another paypal account because its troublesome and lot of verification need to do in order to verified the paypal account in US.

Please advice as I new in this field to purchase item by bidding on ebay.

Laser printer with auto duplex

HI,

Can anybody help me suggesting any brand of laser printer with the requirement below:

1. Can print around 5000 pages per month (The volume maybe fluctuated as there are a month I dont print anything but also sometimes up to 30000 pages)
2. Must have auto duplex for printing double sided without need to manually turn the page back.
3. Toner and drum must be include together when replacing the toner (Not separated).
4. Cost below than rm500 if can and the printing cost as low as possible such as 8cent per page.( if can get lower than this is good).

The only model that I have across so far is HP LaserJet 1320 but I think it already EOL except for refurbish one.

Compaq LCD problem

Hi,

I have problem with my compaq CQ40-627TU. The warranty has expired on december 2010.
The LCD screen have been sent to warranty claim before on december also few days before the warranty expired itself.
The issue with the lcd is got line on top of the screen (same issue before and well known issue for compaq CQ40 laptop)

Which one is better choice?

1. I sent back to HP service centre to see whether there is some warranty for part that being repair before. OR

2. Repair it at normal computer shop?

How much is the price range for solve this problem? (The LCD got line issue)

Hi,

I am planning for upgrade or just a fresh start build for my new computer.
Budget as stated above. My requirement as per below:

1. Must can stand for about 5-6 years with option for upgrade LESS part. For example, I just need to change CPU and flash bios only to upgrade the processor.
2. No need for SLI as I am not heavy gamers but sometimes I do a lot of video processing like animation or pre wedding photoshoot video. And also my game mood is depend on me. I seldom play FPS games type however sometimes I do.
3. Need to cater my HD movie without lag.
4. Minimum RAM is 6GB as I will always running VM for multiple platform environment but I am ok with value ram.
5. Hard disk, did not need SSD but I need 2TB for my daily operation.
6. Must have more than 6 Sata port internal as both of my previous DVDRW is in SATA
7. I have no issue with intel or AMD specs

My component that I have from my previous PC is:

2 DVD writer Sata
2 24 inch Viewsonic LCD (dual view)
Mouse and Keyboard
Speaker

Please advice for the best specs either from intel or amd as I confuse with the intel platform nowadays because I know the 1156 will be phase out soon.

desktop problem

Hi,

I have problem with my desktop right now.
I don't know what has happen but before I go out for about 2 hours to buy some items, I leave the PC turn on because I am running some windows update and I have set it to automatically standby mode after the update has finish.
When I came back, the PC is on the stanby mode but when I push the ON button, the PC is running but no signal on my lcd.
I have try the hard shutdown(by pressing the on button more than 5 sec) but after that when I turn it on back, still have the same problem(no signal display).
I heard the 3 beep sound after 5 second after I turn the pc on but nothing happen.
The HDD led still have signal that show it is working.
What is the actual problem have occur?

hi, base on the title, can you all give me a suggestion which mobo for intel socket 775 or amd socket am3 that have more than 6 sata port?
because I plan to upgrade my pc and currently I use dfi mobo that have 8 sata port. currently I use 2 sata dvd burner and 5 1tb hd.
my data is more on graphic media.

ps: please dont suggest me any pci raid card or nas storage or external encloser

hi, 1st of all, I will story the problem in BM because it is hard for me to story the problem in english.

Macam ni, aku ada PC socket 939 amd dgn dfi lanparty mobo. so, masa bapak aku pkai, tetiba dia shut off sendiri dengan ada bau hangit sbb terbakar skit.
so my father yang xtau sangat psl pc ni tlh call aku utk bertanya. sebab msa dia nak start balik pc, dkt monitor ada terpapar bios tapi pastu terus xde papar pape.......
dah test monitor tapi ok......so the problem is dekat PC la....
dah try test utk on balik bila aku bawak balik pc ke kl, tapi xbleh jugak.
suspect psu dan dah tuka tapi xleh jugak.....
setelah diperiksa dgn teliti, kipas dekat southbridge dah xberfungsi dan bila aku tgk, mcm dah terbakar.......
is it the motherboard is died????

hi,
i have a problem with the viewsonic lcd 1912wb.....
currently when I turn it on, it will not show the image only the black screen.......
i have try to send to the shop at lowyat to diagnose n repair....
the technician said probably because of the backlight problem because the image still can be seen but it is covered with the black image although if I try to focus my eyes, i still can see the windows desktop.......
but the technician said, they can't repair it without tell the reason......

my question is, is it true it is the backlight problem and if yes, where should i sent it for repair and how much is the cost?
