Renew IC for Hospitalize OKU

Hi Guys,

Do u all have any experiences on how to renew IC for hospitalize OKU?

My uncle(mother's Brother) lost his IC during an accident in the mental institute he stay and he is currently hospitalize due to back injury. Totally not in condition to move around.

I have police report on the Lost IC case and doctor report on his unavailability to move around. His ori birth cert was burned long long time ago and no copy available. Any else document I need? and can I do the renewal on behalf of him? or need my mother to do it for him?

WWE star Grandmaster Sexay, Brian Christopher Lawler, dead at 46

Authorities say former World Wrestling Entertainment star Brian Christopher Lawler has died in an apparent suicide.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says the 46-year-old son of WWE Hall of Fame wrestler Jerry "The King" Lawler was found in a jail cell where he'd been held on drunk driving charges, on Saturday.

The agency says officers performed CPR and Lawler was taken to a hospital in Memphis, where he died Sunday.

Lawler was placed in the Hardeman County Jail on July 7. The agency says he was booked on charges of driving under the influence, driving on a revoked license and evading arrest.

Lawler, best known in WWE as Too Cool's Grandmaster Sexay, competed during the height of the Attitude Era.

Najib allowed to withdraw defamation suit against Tony Pua

Judge says the withdrawal does not prejudice the Damansara MP and orders Najib Razak to pay RM30,000 in costs.

KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court has allowed former prime minister Najib Razak to withdraw his suit against Damansara MP Tony Pua over the tabling of the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) (Amendment) Bill or RUU355.

Judge Mohd Zaki Abdul Wahab said the withdrawal did not prejudice Pua as Najib had given an undertaking that he would refile a fresh suit later.

Zaki also ordered Najib to pay Pua RM30,000 in costs within 14 days.

“The defendant (Pua) and his lawyer have done a lot of work in preparation for the plaintiff’s application to withdraw the suit,” he said.

Pua’s counsel Tan Cheng Leong said he would obtain instruction from his client on whether to file an appeal.

Last week, Tan said in his submission that the move would cause prejudice to his client as there was no avenue for him to justify his statement over the bill.

He said Pua had also obtained leave to appeal from the Federal Court against an interim injunction order granted to Najib.

“Therefore, it is important for the issue to be decided by the Federal Court. It is unjust to my client if the court allows the discontinuation of the suit before the appeal is heard,” he said.

Najib’s counsel Mohd Hafarizam Harun however said the application would benefit Pua as his client had appealed to withdraw the suit with no liberty to file a fresh one.

“The defendant should have looked at this as a way forward, where parties walk over and let bygones be bygones,” he said.

On April 21 last year, Najib sued Pua in his personal capacity, alleging that Pua had made defamatory statements against him in a video relating to the tabling of a private member’s bill to amend RUU355.

Najib claimed the two-minute, 21-second video clip uploaded on Pua’s Facebook page entitled “BN Govt abandons all Bills to give precedence to PAS’ RUU355 Private Member’s Bill” could be accessed widely and freely on the internet.

He also claimed the video contained words referring specifically to him and implying that he had abused his power by giving orders through the Cabinet to the Dewan Rakyat speaker to give way to Marang MP Abdul Hadi Awang to propose the bill.

In his video, Pua had said that the tabling of the bill was a charade to divert attention from the 1MDB fiasco and the RM2.6 billion found in Najib’s private account.

On Aug 4, Zaki dismissed Pua’s application for the video to remain on his Facebook page to be viewed by the public pending the outcome of Najib’s defamation suit.

On Feb 14 this year, the Court of Appeal upheld Zaki’s ruling on the grounds that all investigation agencies and the Attorney-General’s Chambers had cleared him of any criminal wrongdoing.

Last month, the Federal Court allowed Pua’s leave application to appeal against the interim injunction obtained by Najib.

A three-man bench led by Court of Appeal president Ahmad Maarof said each case involved questions of legal importance which needed further argument.

The bench allowed four legal questions framed by Pua which would be argued on a date to be fixed.

COX'S BAZAR: International divisions emerged on Tuesday (Sep 12) ahead of a UN Security Council meeting on a worsening refugee crisis in Myanmar, with China voicing support for a military crackdown that has been criticised by the US, slammed as "ethnic cleansing" and forced 370,000 Rohingya to flee the violence.
Beijing's intervention appears aimed at heading off any attempt to censure Myanmar at the council when it convenes on Wednesday.
China was one of the few foreign friends of Myanmar's former military government.
Beijing has tightened its embrace under Aung San Suu Kyi's civilian government as part of its giant trade, energy and infrastructure strategy for Southeast Asia.
The exodus from Myanmar's western Rakine state began after Rohingya militants attacked police posts on Aug 25, prompting a military backlash that has sent a third of the Muslim minority population fleeing for their lives.
Exhausted Rohingya refugees have given accounts of atrocities at the hands of soldiers and Buddhist mobs who burned their villages to the ground. They can not be independently verified as access to Rakhine state is heavily controlled.

Myanmar's government denies any abuses and instead blames militants for burning down thousands of villages, including many belonging to Rohingya.
But international pressure on Myanmar heightened this week after United Nations rights chief Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein said the violence seemed to be a "textbook example of ethnic cleansing".
The US also raised alarm over the violence while the Security Council announced it would meet on Wednesday to discuss the crisis.
Opprobrium has been heaped Aung Sang Suu Kyi, who was once a darling of the rights community but now faces accusations of turning a blind eye to - and even abetting - a humanitarian catastrophe by Western powers who once feted her as well as a slew of fellow Nobel Laureates.
But Beijing offered more encouraging words to her on Tuesday, with foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang voicing support for her government's efforts to "uphold peace and stability" in Rakhine.
"We condemn the violent attacks which happened in Rakhine state in Myanmar," Geng told a regular news briefing.
"We support Myanmar's efforts in upholding peace and stability in the Rakhine state. We hope order and the normal life there will be recovered as soon as possible," he said.
"We think the international community should support the efforts of Myanmar in safeguarding the stability of its national development."
The Rohingya minority are denied citizenship and have suffered years of persecution in Buddhist-majority Myanmar.
"An estimated 370,000 Rohingya have entered Bangladesh," since Aug 25 Joseph Tripura, a spokesman for the UN refugee agency, told AFP.

The real figure may be higher as many new arrivals are still on the move making it difficult to include them in the count, the UN said, adding 60 per cent of refugees are children.
Most are in dire need of food, medical care and shelter after trekking for days through hills and jungles or braving dangerous boat journeys.
In a statement late on Monday Aung San Suu Kyi's foreign ministry defended the military for doing their "legitimate duty to restore stability", saying troops were under orders "to exercise all due restraint, and to take full measures to avoid collateral damage."
Britain and Sweden requested the urgent Security Council meeting amid growing international concern over the ongoing violence. The council met behind closed doors in late August to discuss the violence, but could not agree a formal statement.
'STOP THE TORTURE'
The UN special rapporteur on human rights in Myanmar has said the latest violence may have left more than 1,000 dead, most of them Rohingya.
Myanmar says the number of dead is around 430, the majority of them "extremist terrorists" from the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA).
It says a further 30,000 ethnic Rakhine and Hindus have been displaced inside northern Rakhine, where aid programmes have been severely curtailed due to the violence.
The exodus of Rohingya has saddled Bangladesh with its own humanitarian crisis, as aid workers scramble to provide food and shelter to a daily stream of bedraggled refugees.
The UN-run refugee camps in its Cox's Bazar district were already packed with Rohingya who had fled from previous waves of persecution.
Dhaka is providing them temporary shelter.
But Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who visited a Rohingya camp on Tuesday, stressed it was up to Myanmar to "resolve" the issue.
"We will request the Myanmar government to stop oppressing innocent people," she said during a tour of a camp in Cox's Bazar, according to local outlet bdnews24.com.
Dhaka, which has refused to permanently absorb the Rohingya, said it plans to build a huge new camp that will house a quarter of a million refugees.
But it remains unclear if or when they will be able to return.
Plumes of smoke continued to rise on the Myanmar side of the border this week despite the militants' announcement on Sunday of a unilateral ceasefire.
There was no direct response from Myanmar's military, though government spokesman Zaw Htay tweeted: "We have no policy to negotiate with terrorists."

Chinese company buys 51% stake in Shell Malaysia plant

Shandong Hengyuan Petrochemical will apply advanced refining technology to upgrade fuel quality of Shell's Port Dickson plant that mainly supplies fuel to Malaysia.

KUALA LUMPUR: Private Chinese refiner Shandong Hengyuan Petrochemical Co closed a US$66.3 million (RM300 million) acquisition of a stake in Royal Dutch Shell’s Malaysia oil plant on Thursday, according to Shell and a local media report.
Hengyuan Petrochemical agreed in February to buy a 51% stake in the 156,000 barrels per day refinery at Port Dickson, becoming one of the few smaller refining firms in China to own an overseas refinery.

Citing senior company executives attending a deal-closing ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, the media report said Hengyuan will apply advanced refining technology to upgrade fuel quality of the Port Dickson plant that mainly supplies fuel to Malaysia.
“The Shell Malaysia plant is still using Euro II fuel standards, while the technology Hengyuan is applying is already of Euro V,” Wang Zongquan, vice-president of the Shandong-based Hengyuan Petrochemical, was quoted as saying by Dezhou television on its social media platform.
In an interview with Reuters in March, Hengyuan’s chairman said the company wanted to boost its oil trading by working with Shell and to expand higher-value chemicals business at its 70,000 bpd refinery in Shandong.
Shell confirmed in a statement that the deal had been closed.

Myth 6: Rohingyas are so peaceful.

Fact: Bengali government denied its own people. Burmese government accept them and gave them citizenship and equal rights. However, more and more Bengali Rohingya illegally enter to Myanmar every year. They are rude and aggressive. They don’t respect native Rakhine and bullied Rakhine people. Then, they pretend to be like poor and nice guys. Why did Burmese government have to accept these kind of rude hypocrite terrorists? Burmese government already gave out a lot of citizenship to these so-called Rohingya and they are equal under the law. Nevertheless, government cannot accept any more illegal immigrants since they don't do any good for Myanmar.
Myth 8 : Burmese hate Rohingya so much because they are Muslim.
Fact : There are plenty of Muslim people in Burma. Burmese people treat with respect to those people who are not rude, aggressive and murderers. Burmese people treat with respect to those Rohingya who entered Burma legally, and who are not murderers.

Lawyers: Islamic agencies have no jurisdiction over companies like Ninja Joe

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 31 — Islamic agencies do not have jurisdiction to act on companies such as the burger chain Ninja Joe which was recently probed over its now-scrapped “P. Ramly” product name, lawyers have said.

Civil liberties lawyer Fahri Azzat said it was “likely” that the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) and Negri Sembilan Islamic Religious Affairs Department (Jheains) had overstepped their jurisdiction or the legal limits of their powers when they recently investigated Ninja Joe outlets.

“They have no business over a restaurant that did not apply for halal certification,” he told Malay Mail Online yesterday when contacted, agreeing that the “correct” position is for their powers to be limited to outlets with halal certification or those claiming their products to be halal or permissible for Muslims’ use or consumption.

Referring specifically to Jheains’s assertion that it has powers under trade description laws to investigate Ninja Joe over an allegedly confusing name for the latter’s pork burger, Fahri disagreed.

“I think this is incorrect. Jheains has no jurisdiction over trademark or confusion about trade names or items. More so when the entity did not apply for halal certification for those items,” he said.

In addressing questions on the limits of the powers of Jais and Jheains as bodies created under state laws, civil liberties lawyer Nizam Bashir referred to the position under the Federal Constitution, citing specifically Item 1 of its Ninth Schedule’s List II which deals with matters under state jurisdiction.

“Constitutionally speaking, Jais or JHEAINS powers do not extend beyond persons professing the religion of Islam,” Nizam told Malay Mail Online when contacted yesterday, adding that Ninja Joe is a chain of restaurants owned by a company.

“It is trite that a company cannot profess the religion of Islam. Consequently, Jais or Jheains has no power over Ninja Joe Sdn Bhd,” the civil liberties lawyer added.

But as for the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism (KPDNKK), it can investigate Ninja Joe for any offences under the Trade Descriptions Act 2011 if it chooses to do so, Nizam said.

Authorised officers

Last week, a senior officer at Jheains’ halal management division had told Malay Mail Online that the Islamic body’s officers have the same enforcement powers as KPDNKK officers, as they are appointed as Assistant Controllers of Trade Descriptions to assist in enforcement duties related to halal matters.

While acknowledging that officers from Islamic bodies appointed by the KPDNKK may exercise powers within the Trade Descriptions Act, Nizam pointed out that the Ninja Joe incident involves a trade description matter and is not connected with halal concerns.

“So long as these officers are licenced...if they have been appropriately authorised under the Trade Descriptions Act, they can carry out their powers strictly under the Act.

“Here I don’t know whether it’s necessary because you have trade ministry officers clearly quite competent to investigate and prosecute, why bring in the religious department, what sort of expertise do they have to bring into the matter? It’s a trade description issue, I don’t see any halal issue about this,” he said.

Nizam said that the issue of whether there has been misrepresentation of a product’s halal status should be looked at holistically and may not necessarily include factors such as the product’s name, adding that the context where Ninja Joe is a known pork burger outlet and with its poster on “P. Ramly” burger carrying the word “pork” meant that consumers would not be misled into thinking it was halal.

Enforcement, but to what extent?

Lawyer Andrew Khoo said both Jais’s and Jheains’s jurisdiction in relation to trade description legislation would be when it comes to the usage of the “halal” certification, or — “even in the absence of any ‘halal’ certification” — to representations that goods and services can be consumed by Muslims.

Citing Peninsular Malaysia’s situation where people tend to automatically associate names with ethnicity and religion when compared to their “more diverse and accepting” counterparts in Sabah and Sarawak, Khoo said it was possible that some in the peninsular may conclude that a product is safe for consumption from an Islamic perspective merely due to a Malay-sounding trade name.

“So even though Ninja Joe did not use any halal certification or explicitly represent to the public that its products could safely be consumed by Muslims, for the reasons I have given, it could be seen as confusing by some,” he told Malay Mail Online yesterday when contacted.

While noting that the Trade Descriptions (Definition of Halal) Order 2011 does give authority to inspectors to investigate situations which can cause confusion, Khoo said it should have been clear for those who read both the burger’s name and its description of the pork ingredient in Ninja Joe’s poster.

He acknowledged that there may be some who had only read the burger’s name and reacted in a “knee-jerk” manner by associating a particular name with a particular religion, but asked what should be the standard to be imposed.

“However this is the challenge in this type of legislation or regulation — what level of protection do we afford the consumer? Do we apply a standard of consumer awareness of the most gullible person in our society?” he asked.

Khoo added that it would be an “alarming trend” if Islamic bodies are indicating that clearly non-halal products cannot use certain types of names simply due to name-association, noting that it would then result in trade descriptions or name usage being subject to subjective responses based on whether an individual’s sensitivities are affected despite clear product information available.

Ninja Joe had last week published an apology on its official Facebook page and said that it had not intended to offend, reiterating that it has taken down all posters advertising the “P. Ramly” burger and will be renaming it.

The burger chain previously told Malay Mail Online that the “P” in the “P. Ramly” burger launched on Hari Merdeka stands for pork, while the word “Ramly” was aimed at paying homage to the iconic Malaysian brand “Ramly Burger” and was unrelated to the late Malaysian artiste Tan Sri P. Ramlee.

Both Ninja Joe’s website and Facebook page describe the restaurant chain as serving non-halal food, with the latter stating that it is “best known for delicious pork burgers”.

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak’s wife Rosmah Mansor spent $6 million using credit cards in recent years, amid corruption allegations surrounding state-fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) that was set up by her husband, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday, citing newly revealed documents.

Rosmah reportedly made purchases at European and American jewelry and fashion stores in 2014, where Najib paid using credit cards that drew on 1MDB funds. The new documents show these purchases were part of at least $6 million spent by Rosmah from 2008 to 2015 on clothes, shoes and jewelry from Harrods in London, Saks Fifth Avenue in New York and elsewhere, the Journal reported. The newspaper also noted she hadn’t held a regular paying job in years and Najib has been a longtime bureaucrat with an annual salary of $100,000.

Furthermore, a source with direct knowledge of the U.S. investigation into 1MDB’s alleged fraud told the Journal that Rosmah introduced Najib to Jho Low. According to a lawsuit filed by U.S. officials, Low is at the center of the alleged 1MDB scandal.

The Journal pointed out that in her 2013 autobiography, Rosmah said she has a habit of saving. “I have bought some jewelry and dresses with my own money. What is wrong with that?” she wrote.

Some time last year, Najib’s office said his family’s spending was proportionate with his inheritance from his father Abdul Razak Hussein who served as Malaysian prime minister from 1970 to 1976. In February 2015, Najib’s four brothers reportedly said their father did not leave a big estate. Najib, without addressing the inheritance, then said that his father was as thrifty and a man of integrity.

In the lawsuit filed late last month, the U.S. Justice Department said over $3.5 billion was misappropriated from 1MDB in alleged fraud committed over a four-year period. It further added that it is seeking to seize more than $1 billion of assets linked to the fund.

Najib set up 1MDB in 2009 to spur economic growth in the Southeast Asian country. However, he was linked to the corruption scandal at the fund from which $681 million was traced to bank accounts allegedly owned by him. The prime minister has consistently denied corruption allegations, first made in a July 2015 report by the Journal, which said investigators tracked the money from an account at Falcon Private Bank in Singapore to accounts in Malaysia.

try to do business by expanding wife business at my advise which he no idea at all and dunno how to do business at certain new opened IT mail

business failure after unable to complete a big deal with a friend that intro by me and forced to pay penalty

borrow money from ah long that her wife know because intro by me but he as usual no idea at all

no money to repay the loan so force to sell house with the help of property agent that intro to his wife by me

I buy his house which value at 1mil for 700k with a signed contract that compulsory to rent the house to him for 2 years with penalty if either side violate the contract
