Problem: My office server shuts down quite consistently and repeatedly (5-8 times daily) during midnight 12am - 7am.

During weekend when there is is no one accessing the server files, the 'unexpected shutdown' would occur randomly in the afternoon or night time.

Any expert can help read the mini dump file and maybe share some light on the cause of these shutdowns?

Hi fellow sifu,

My windows 7 has been crashing randomly, like once a week due to unknown reason.

All I have is this dump file, but I cant seem to find any online dump analyzer. Can any help me to identify the cause of the crash?

Hi fellow Sifu,

Decided to DIY paint my room wall during this MCO. Never done it before but wish to take this opportunity to learn some new skills.

I have a wall with such conditions as shown in the photos due to a irresponsible contractor.

What material or tools do I need to smoother the rough area? I.e. sand it down with sand paper (grit?) and then smoothen it with skim coat?

Is 2litre sufficient for an area of around 8m2?

Any input is appreciated.

Monitor DOES NOT detect GC HDMI

So, after 1 week away from holiday (unplugged the main power cord), when i try to boot up my PC,

monitor says it does not detect anything, GC fans are running thou. but when i plug the hdmi to my motherboard, everything came up fine.

Loud PSU Noise

Hello guys,

I have the Seasonic M12II-750W together with my new rig recently, however I found that its fan is very loud (loudest in my rig) even when not under load/idle. Heard from other forum that it should be dead silent.

Any reason for it? Could it be faulty? Or could it be because I use 2 extension to connect my rig. (1 extension not long enough)

Auto Shut Off after disassembly + repaste

So I have a old Acer aspire 5560 which often auto shut down due to overheating issue. So I decided to disassemble and repaste it according to acer guide book.

After disassembling and re pasting, i had encountered a few issues:

1) At first my monitor wouldnt turn on, only can see the hdd light and fan on. Then I tried swapping the RAM and the screen turn back on. But after that...

2) I couldnt boot into windows, it shut down itself without warning before entering to windows. So I decided to disassemble it again to see if I forgot any cable etc. This time I went on to make sure I screwed the cpu's heat sink into place properly (thinking that might be the cause of auto shut off 10-15 sec after turning it on). Before I assemble everything back, I tried to partially assemble (monitor, power cable) to test and I was able to boot to window without any problem.

3) So I proceed to assemble it back, and you guessed it, still the same problem, turning itself off after 15-20 sec during boot up.

Now I am unable to boot into windows any more, maybe due to too much sudden power off? and it would automatically put me through system recovery even when I choose 'Star window normally'.

Any idea what went wrong with it?
