TAR vs UTAR dilemma

I am currently having a headache if i should choose to take Advanced Diploma in KTAR or a degree from UTAR.I am a TAR Diploma graduate in electronic engineering.Will i still manage to get a job as i would be doing a top up 3 month degree in UK.Cause its not LAN recognised and do private companies really look into this issue?UTAR electronic degree will be accredited by end of this year.I attended classes for both and I found KTAR lecturers are more passionate in their teachings and are far more experienced in handling students.

Thumb Drive Failure

My 512MB thumb drive is corrupted.I think some of you guys have faced this problem before.When i connect the thumb drive to the computer,the computer can detect it but it becomes a RAW file system and the size of the capacity is 0 bytes.Doing reformat wouldnt help either as Windows or DOS would say it is unable to format.Does that mean this pen drive is totally burnt or can it be repaired?

C++ Data Types

My assignment program requires me to input a value in both character and integer format.My variable is id_no as I have set it.And I declared it as an int type.However,during the running mode of the program,when i key in any alphabet from A to Z,the program would hang.To the sifu's out there is it possible to declare a variable as a dual type as in int and char.

Doing int id_no;
char id_no;
leaves me no results.Any statement or code to achive this.Thank you.
