RPGT exemptions are available in the following circumstances:
Exemptions under the RPGT Act 1976:
1. An individual will be given an exemption equal to RM10,000 or 10% of the chargeable gain, whichever
is greater. Prior to 1 Jan 2010, the exemption was equal to RM5,000 or 10% of the chargeable gain,
whichever was greater.
2. An individual who is a Malaysian citizen or a permanent resident will be given a once-in-a-lifetime
exemption on any chargeable gain arising from the disposal of his/her private residence if he/she elects
in writing for the exemption to apply to that private residence.

Most of people will fit in items 2.

My lawyer told me that i might get rejected as well and its based on the approval and his suggestion is die die hold until 5 years.

dear all,

let me make my story short.

my friend japanese lady working in kl and rented a room from a chinese lady owner. ( live in the same house ). yesterday, they had quarrels at night and my japanese lady fren was asked to leave at the midnight. ( u know shit happens between girls )

right now the owner refused to return the deposits ( 2.5 mths ) to her and she is so frustrated.....

how can i help my friend , any association is aim to protect the benefits of the tenants ?
