Helix Match PP82DSP -opinion?

Hi guys,

Anyone has experience with the Helix Match PP82DSP - 8ch Amp with DSP integrated experience ? Am contemplating to get this to fit into my Hyundai I40 as currently sticking with stock HU(until Android Auto models in market are stabilised)? It appears they have a lot of car model harness options to integrate, so min cable slicing (worried about car warranty problem)

Would a separate amp & dsp be better? Am trying not overclutter with too many equipment?

Thanks for any sharing

Need solution for music setup in SOHO office

Hi,

Wanna seek some advice from AV experts - would like to setup to play music in a SOHO office environment, around 700 sq ft.

The setup will only be for playing background music via CD or iPod. As budget is kinda tight, <RM2k, am thinking of getting a HTIB home theater set (either Pioneer/Sony/Samsung) and wall mounting the speakers, and wiring them in parallel so that all speakers playes in stereo form (not surround). Alternately, thought about getting a receiver + 4 speakers, but not enough budget since also have to get a source (cd player or iPod) + extra cabling length.

What do you guys think - is the HTIB idea workeable?

Thanks in advance...

Upscaling for Astro Byond SD Channels?

Hi,

Recently just upgraded to Astro Byond, after getting the VT20k Plasma. While the HD channel are quite nice, the SD channel seems worse off on the plasma.

Was wondering whether with the current generation of HDMI upscaling receivers like the Onkyo's 4K capable video upscaling, does it significantly improves the SD channels pic quality? For those with Byond, do you use the receiver scaler or prefer to plug direct to the TV?

Look forward to some feedback, thanks in advance...

Wall mounting for plasma/lcd

Hi,

I have done a forum search but couldn't really find anything on this.

Want to ask, a buddy of mine just bought a LG Plasma from Harvey Norman. He wants to do a wall mount but was taken aback that HN wanted to charge RM500 for it, including the mounting bracket.

Can I check with you guys - is the mounting installation price rearlly that expensive? Also, does anyone know what is the ideal height for mounting a 42inch LCD/Plasma?

Thanks in advance...

Getting Astro 2nd decoder but different location

Hi guys,

I'm contemplating signing up for Astro 2nd decoder promotion, however I want to put the 2nd decoder + card in my sis's house which is in a different location. This way, we can take advantage of the subscription fee savings. My sis house already has a dish and astro decoder, so we just cancel that one but keep the dish.

Just want to get your opinions - any issues in doing this? Anyone did this before??

Thanks in advance...
