2011 Tokyo Motor Show

The 42nd Tokyo Motor Show is now in progress. The Tokyo Motor Show (東京モーターショー?) is a biennial auto show held in October-November at the Makuhari Messe, Chiba City, Japan for cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles. Hosted by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), it is a recognized international show by the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d'Automobiles, and normally sees more concept cars than actual production car introductions which is the reason why the auto press see the show as one of the motorshow's big five (along with Detroit, Geneva, Frankfurt and Paris).

This year's show according to Auto Journalist seems to be smaller than the last but still some of the concepts on display are nothing short of amazing.

I just wanted to share my experiences with YTL's YES 4G.

I have two accounts with YES. The first was purchased a month ago and whilst it took the technician a good 2 hours just to register me, the connection has been working perfectly fine. The only issue I had with it was the slow registration process and the lack of knowledge on the Salesman's part as he guaranteed me that the YES GO's connection cannot be shared with others. (Well Windows' XP ICS will like to have a word with him. Just saved myself RM 1,000).

The problem starts with the 2nd Account that I bought since I needed a secondary one for work.

I registered for the account on the 17th of May as I needed it for work on the 22nd. I went to Lot 10 and got the thing registered within 20 minutes.

I got home later that evening (17th of May) only to find out that it didn't work. Thinking I typed in the wrong user name, I checked my e-mail via 3G and found it was correct. Imagine my frustration when I found out their helpline stops at 10PM. No matter I'll call tomorrow.

18th May, I call the helpline during opening hours only to find that I couldn't contact them because their phone lines were down. Can you believe I had to resort to Twitter to get their attention and even then, they did not have the decency to call me. Can you imagine that they requested I send them a screenshot of my registration e-mail. Luckily I had an iPhone that I can snap and upload VIA TWITTER no less ....

18th May evening, I received a call from the help line asking me to pass them the registration number of my YES Go USB Dongle. This is because their SYSTEM was apparently DOWN during the time I registered, and although I had the confirmation e-mail, I wasn't on their database.

I told them I'm off to a work related event and I will only be back in the evening. She says no problem sms me. Either way, at around 10pm she sms's me and says they've sorted out my account and I can log in using the first 6 digits of my IC. Yay ...so I thought.

19th May. I wake up to receive yet another confirmation e-mail that my account has been activated. Yet when I tried to log in, I still am unable to. Thinking that they may have messed up my password, I then choose to select the "Forgot my Password", so i could reset it to whatever I wanted. Imagine my frustration when nothing happened.

I then called customer service (who magically now have a line), to request for a password change. He says ok and promises to send me an e-mail in the next 15 minutes. Which of course fails to materialize.

I then call again and was put on hold a record 3 times for a total lenght of 8 minutes only for the technician to tell me that there is a problem with resetting passwords and that they are unable to give me a new password. "What ??" was my initial reaction to which he then added that "It is a known problem". I immediately requested for a appeal to higher authority to which he says he will do and ask me go on hold again. I say I have work to do , there is no way I have the time to sit idle by whilst you contact your superiors. Get them to call me back immediately . Pass them my number and have yet to hear from them since.

Its now the 21st of May and I have heard nothing. I'm out over RM100 and have no internet. I think I can clearly say "NO" to YES from now on.

Hello all,

I'm pretty new into the blog world and am slowly finding my footing in it. I have set up the site www.hoohaa.my which main focus is on creating video blog post about Gaming, Fashion Travel and Sports. Its currently in the early stages of development seeing that we only started pushing hard in July. We've been up and running for a few months now so I would really like to know if there is anything we can do to improve the site.

Initial complaints we got was that the site was pretty hard to navigate, so we had to jumble a few things around. So far it seems to be working but we will only know if more people check it out. Really we'll be focusing a lot on local content so if you're interested in any of the topics above, stay tuned as we bring you the news that matters to you

MSI Dota National Final-First Round Paring/Winner

If you’re keeping up with the LIVE WCG Feeds, well turn it off and head on down to the Berjaya Times Square in Kuala Lumpur because things are getting really HOT.
MSI DOTA National Finals finally come to its end and its doing it in epic style. 8 Teams battle it out for the hope to crowned Malaysia’s Best. The Champion Gets RM3, 500 and prizes whilst the 1st Runner Up gets RM1, 500 as well as prizes. Losers can cry in defeat.

The first round finished in second time. 1st Round paring was
GIG SMD vs. IRX (IRS Winner)
RED vs. GNR (GNR Winner)
LZ-L vs. XGL (XGL Winner)
INC-NC vs. EX.G (INC NC)

LZ-L was the secret team released at this event, and although they are made up entirely of female members, they aren’t the homemaking type. Even before the event LZ-L’s Leader was seen shouting we’ll kill you all. She certainly does have the killer instinct.

[addedon]October 3, 2010, 3:32 pm[/addedon]324PM- The second half of the elimination rounds has almost ended. Pairings for the second half of round 1 saw Nirvana VS Roongjeit, Anything vs IG Ice, Sino Regal vs (Old) INC, and AEON MUFC vs DG.

The matches like the first half ended in record time as teams Nirvana, IG Ice, (Old) INC and Aeon MUFC pummeled their opponents into the ground. In terms of the atmosphere, everything seems a lot clamer than it did before. Perhaps the energetic supporters are tiring a little. Either way, there still a long way to go before we start seeing the final 2 so stay tuned for more updates.

Question about video hosting

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for Video Hosting services? I'm helping run www.hoohaa.my and we deal with a lot of video content. We would dearly love to host our own videos on our site, but after trying the JW Player, we found that streaming the video is much too slow (Our servers are based in the US). I have tried using Brightcove's player which promise to deliver a huge level of management (Which is great), but their servers location also means that streaming to Malaysia will be quite slow. I'm hoping there is a local solution to this problem.

Does anyone have any experience with Video streaming here?

WCG Malaysia 2010– Fifa 2010 Si_Jali VS Vin

Even though the World Cup is over, it remains quite clear that Malaysians can never ever rid themselves of football fever. At this year’s WCG Malaysia FIFA 10 Finals, Si_Jali and [T2.W|nDs]Vin did their nation proud by showing some of the best controller based football skills around. Looking at the footage, it is clear that even if we don’t make it at the International stage IRL, we are most certainly a force to be reckoned with on the digital front.

Hoohaa.my’s footage of the match lasted an epic 39 minutes and I most certainly suggest you want the un-interrupted version that will be hosted on our site (Warning, slow load times mean you have to have a Unifi connection or be willing to spend at least 2 hours loading it).

Requesting some help regarding DNS

I do hope you guys can help me out on this. I've recently registered a domain name domainregistry.my. I did this through one of their resellers. I have since bought some hosting space in the US and am having a little trouble setting up the DNS.

According to the site's technical support, I'm suppose to set the domain's nameservers at the registrar to

ns1.dreamhost.com

ns2.dreamhost.com

ns3.dreamhost.com

However when I log in, I am unable to change anything related to the DNS. Does anybody have any advice on how to go about doing this? Thank you for the help in advance.

Looking for a tyre shop that stocks 19's

Hi all,

I was hoping to save some time this weekend and ask around if anybody knows of a good tyre shop in the TTDI / Damansara / Sunway area that stocks fat rubbers. Looking to get some Bridgestone Protenza's sized at 285/35/19. Just had a horrid puncture and would like to get this sorted. If you happen to have the phone number to the place it would be even better as I'll be able to call them before hand to check.

Do let me know if you guys have any recommendations.

Error after Windows 7 Update

Hi All,

The problem occured right after I updated my Windows 7 Ultimate with the latest security patch. My computer specs are as listed below

Intel Core 2 Quad
Asus P5Q
2x Kingston 800 mhz 2GB Ram
3x 500GB Seagate Sata HDD
2x 1TB WD HDD
LG DVD Rom
Palit HD 4850
600 Watt OCZ PSU

Right after I updated my windows, I was asked to restart the computer to which I delayed for approximately 12 hours (because I was working on a document). After closing all my windows and asking the computer to restart, I was then prompted with the Windows is installing updates. Right after which My computer just went dead.

I waited for a couple of hours no change and decided to turn off the power. When I tried to turn on the PC, I would get the normal beep from the motherboard but no display. I presummed one of the HDD had failed (so I tried to take out non essential HDD). Once I took out a 500 GB HDD, the computer booted instantly into Windows without a problem at all. In fact its still running. However when that supposedly damaged HDD was placed into an external enclousure it worked just fine.

Does anybody know what could have cause this problem to happen? When I connected it back again to the computer the problem returns. It is unlikely a Power issue cosidering its been running over 4 months now with a similar set up. Please do post suggestions if you have any.

Hi all,

Sorry to trouble you all, but I'm looking for a software that can mirror the data on my PC's Hard Drive on to a USB drive that will be plugged in all the time.

I've heard that Seagate has something like an 'Active Sync' but I'm not too sure if it'll work on my External USB drive.

Does anybody have any suggestions? I'm ok paying for the software as long as it does what its suppose to do.

The ISP Situation in Malaysia
