2011 Saga vs 1999 Civic

I know you guys are probably wondering how I can compare the two but hear me out

I'm a student who has to drive from KL to Subang and occasionally make trips to Cyberjaya as well. With a budget of 20k, I've been looking around for a car which can handle these long highway trips.

On one hand, the Saga is newer, spare parts are abundant and has more safety features. But, the FC isn't that economic and it's quite sluggish for highway travel based on my friend talking bout his own saga.

On the other hand, the old civic has way better FC, is more powerful and is not exactly lacking in spare parts from what I've asked around. However, I'm not even sure if the civic of that time even has airbags and it is quite an old car.

Hope you guys can help guide me in the right direction.

Internet to desktop cuts randomly

Broadband provider
ISP/package: Unifi VIP5
Location: Sentul

Personal equipment
Modem: Stock modem
Router: TP-Link WR841ND
Firewall used: Avast

Problem details
First occurence of problem: Problem started happening about two weeks ago
Problem frequency: Every time my laptop is connected to wifi
Problem description: The internet access to my desktop which is connected via LAN cable randomly drops whenever my laptop is connected to the network via wifi. The internet drops happens randomly, but the only constant is that it happens when this specific laptop is connected. The internet will be cut for a while, then it'll come back on eventually like 20-30 seconds later. Also, the problem occurs so fast that the system doesn't even detect that internet access has been cut at the Networks tab. It seems to occur more frequently when the laptop is streaming videos/downloading stuff i.e. Youtube, although the videos are loaded on only 480p quality. I performed virus scans with Avast and Malwarebytes on both the laptop and desktop and nothing was found.

Anybody have any idea how to fix this? This is making gaming impossible right now.. How to play MMO if you keep disconnecting every few minutes?

Upgrading Rig~ :D

Hey fellow LYN-ers! Well, recently my PSU blew out, so I decided I'd take this chance to upgrade my whole rig. I will be taking over my current Gfx card (Radeon HD 6700) and my two 500 GB hard drives. So basically, now I need a new mobo, PSU, processor and RAM. I have a budget of 1k, and this rig would be geared towards casual gaming like DotA and the occassional graphics-intensive game like MW2. What suggestions do you guys have that would give me the best bang for my buck? All comments would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

College for Software Engineering or Games Design?

So, I'm sitting for my SPM this year, and I'm planning out what I want to do after my SPM. After looking at several fields, I've decided that I would like to pursue either Software Engineering or Games Programming. After doing some research, I've found that SE seems to offer a higher salary on average compared to Games Programming. Is this true only in the US or also here in Malaysia? What could I expect as an fresh grad? Does this field offer flexibility? Also, while I have decided on what course I want to take, the current problem is where I'm going to take it. Anyone here have any advice or recommendations for a college? Preferably one that has a 100% scholarship offer For games programming a few colleges that have caught my eye would be APIIT and LKW. But, it seems LKW is receiving quite a lot of flak lately, while APIIT only has a 70% scholarship iirc. Meanwhile, there are many colleges that offer SE, so I don't really know which to choose. Any suggestions on a college that would provide a quality education for me? Also, I decided to apply for HELP's SASA scholarship, as I saw a course for bachelor of IT there. Is this bachelor of IT course compatible with my goal of becoming a software engineer? Thanks in advance for any advice you guys can give me. I'm befuddled by all this college business

HP C2480 Problem

There seems to be a problem with my HP c4280 printer. Whenever I try to print something, it eats up the paper and crumples it, causing paper jam. So I keep having to pull out the bits of paper, but after unjamming the paper, then comes another problem, it keeps saying the carriage is jammed. However, when I switch it off and try to move the carriage side-to-side, it moves smoothly. What could be the problem here? I just finished checking for any paper that could still be jammed in there, but I've failed to find any. And google so far isn't being of much help. :\

Upgrading my rig :D

It's been 4 years since I last upgraded my rig, so I think it's time to get back up to date

I have a budget of under RM 1k which I admit is quite little, but it's all I can cope with currently :\

My current rig :
ASUS P5GC-MX mobo
Intel E2140 << Hella slow.
2 gigs of DDR2 RAM
Sapphire 4600 HD gfx card
WD 500 gigs HD

Looking to do some photo editing, gaming as well as movie making with the new rig. I'm guessing I'll be bringing over the GFX card as well as the HDD. That leaves a new mobo and a new processor. So watcha guys think? Or are there some old processors that are compatible with my mobo that will be able to suit my needs? All constructive comments are appreciated

I have two phones in my house. One is upstairs while the other is a phone/fax machine which is downstairs. Ever since changing the splitter upstairs cuz it cracked and wasn't working, every time I picked up the phone, my internet would DC. My old splitter was those three way splitters which used the wires from the main line, modem and phone. My new splitter is a three way splitter which is connected directly to the main phone box thingy and from there i plug in both my phone and modem lines. I've heard of something called noise filters which are supposed to fix this problem, but don't know how they look like and how to set them up? Can anyone clarify if I indeed need a noise filter? And if I do how do they look like, and how do I set them up?

Hey guys. Was helping my buddy set up his CX5500 last night to his brand new comp. Only prob was.. No matter how I install the drivers it doesn't seem to work... I've tried using drivers from the epson website, the disc, etc. etc. I think the problem might have something to do with the USB cable that connects the printer to the comp, cause when i hook em up no balloon pops up saying "new hardware detected", etc and when the driver is installing it says printer not detected so I manually set the port to LPT 1 cause I can't find any ports for USB. Provide me with your thoughts and help Thanks.
