Edifier MP260 review.

Hey. I’m back again thanks to Edifier for letting me try out this amazing product.

Let’s get into the box. Edifier has this nicely printed box with clean layouts. Very different from their pc speaker which always comes in plain cardboard brown and plain black prints. I can see how this will look amazing when placed on in-store shelves.

Simple and straightforward. All you see is the speaker and clock. That alone is enough to attract people.

Opening the box displays the speaker alone.
There’s a note on the lip saying about keeping this speaker plugged in which worries me but I just glanced through and grab the speaker out.
Edifier decided to use polystyrene as their packing material instead of their classic recycled paper or stacked foam protection.
A little stiff for packing material but I believe it is enough to protect the speaker.

What you’ll get in the box:
- The speaker itself
- USB A to micro USB (aw man. Where’s the USB C?)
- Aux cable
- Manuals, warranty cards, and legal warnings

The provided micro USB is pretty solid-looking. It’s nothing special other than rubber-coated cable and a standard length of 1 meter I believe. Only for charging. No USB power brick was provided.

A different AUX cable? I’m not sure. Edifier has different AUX cables for every product I know of. Some come with a smooth cable jacket and some are the traditional ribbed cable relief. Nothing special but definitely good to have one provided.

And lastly their paperwork. Very familiar design to every Edifier product. I managed to figure out how to use the speaker without reading the manual but again it is good to have physical booklet manuals rather than scanning QR code to find manuals realizing it’s gone.

Let’s start with unboxing.

Edifier being Edifier, protects their speakers with double box! Glad that never changed since the early days of my experience. Always top-notch packaging and protection. While there are no fancy colored boxes with fancy pictures like how I got my classic S530D, Edifier has been pretty consistent with these mono-line style prints on their box.

Opening the box reveals the necessary cabling, wireless remote, and documents on top of the molded polystyrene. Pretty common packaging that ensures good protection.
You’re given these items on top.
-Instruction booklet and warranty
-Wireless remote (nice and slim!)
-RCA to RCA cable
-RCA to 3.5mm minijack cable
-Toslink optical cable
-Single power cord for subwoofer

Just bought this during 7.7 to replace my cheapo RM50 TPA3116 desktop amp. My previous amp is working fine but I wasn't pleased with the fixed crossovers provided. It's making my subs speak vocals too much with the high crossover point so everything goes w00mw000wm00wm when you get closed mic vocals in your audio.

Nice little small package enclosed in diy kit aluminum case

Definitely fits under my screen riser.

Looks sleek on my table compared to my old acrylic fishtank amp.

Other than added bluetooth included in the amp, overall it's a nice amp. I get bass and treble control for my fullrange and a separate sub and crossover frequency control for the subwoofer I use. I doubt the crossover affects the fullrange. It seems to play my speakers full unrestricted when I did a frequency sweep. Clean and smooth knobs despite slippery metal. Everything feels nice to twist. Best part is that turning the master volume won't change the tone of the speaker

My previous acrylic amp unit was only 3 knobs with terrible volume attenuation. The 3 knobs were L/R volume, Sub volume and master volume. And if those 3 were to lower down below 50% you can hear the audio start to "filter out" as if someone putting a highpass on the eq. It just sounds... "not direct" Had to keep the volume max on all 3 and use my interface to control master volume instead. Plus one of the RCA jacks were broken thanks to my overly tight RCA connectors from Kadas. They strip off any cheap RCA with ease.

Hi guys.
Thanks to Edifier I'm getting another chance to review another product from Edifier lineup.

The portable bluetooth speaker MP120

Edifier has gone minimalistic with box designs. It's a tight, thick and high quality cardboard box as compared to my very old mp230 filmsy box in the past.
Pretty much similar box to many current smartphone box packagings.

There are several logo prints on the side which seemed "generic" to many bluetooth speaker packagings. Could've just skipped the logo part to make it looked clean but it's fine I guess

The back of the box is packed with tiny words and basic details and specs.

Check out the beautiful packaging. Really loved the firm fit of the box showing the speaker and a small compartment for accesories.
Listed inside is the speaker, micro USB cable and some paperworks all wrapped in recyclable bags and paper

This 2 items here is the only important stuff you get in the box
A sleek looking anodized aluminum speaker box and a Micro USB cable.
Like many current tech reviewer said, it is preffered that a USB-C connector is used instead for future generations.
Nevertheless the Micro-USB included by Edifier is one of the best quality cables I've ever seen.

Nobsound speakers?

I've fallen into the budget realm. Lazada been recommending me Nobsound brand and they looked pretty good.

I've heard the amps and they pack a punch for the size but they do have a wide range of bookshelves.
I'm looking at the Nobsound NS-1800 to be paired with my NAD-302. Looks promising.

Speaker Stand questions

Was looking around to elevate my speaker to ear level but I'm down with 3 options

Edifier SS02
Sony slim speaker stands
Generic PA speaker stand from jalan pasar perhaps

I had plans on elevating my Edifier S530D satellites. They're now on some acoustic foam but they took a lot of table space.
Stands did get a huge debate on HiFi forums especially to prevent coloring and such but I never really understood what drastic change they do (especially heavy iron cast with spikes/isolators that costs 4 digit in price vs a lightweight PA stand that isolates speaker from reflection)

Any hints/tips/advice you all can give?
My experience with PA speaker is that I lose a tad bit of midbass when I put EV EKX12P on stands and the speaker manual had a preset eq for stand.

I'm actually looking for one of these cheap cheap one.
I don't know man... Lazada sells them for about RM90+ cheapest and others are like RM280++
Crazy price.

I found one china shop in klang parade selling RM22 but they're all cloudy and messed up. (and they only have green)

Any source I can find? Physical shop or online oso can. Max I willing to spend Rm100 or below.
Prefer around PJ or Klang area.

Hi guys.
I got a chance to listen to this ‘newer’ S360DB from Edifier (yay)
Lets have some unboxing pics shall we?
Forgive me if I kept mentioning the previous model in my review

Giving it a quick look it seems very similar to the Edifier S350DB I reviewed in the past.
Weight feels the same and parts given seemed the same too.

Same looking fullrange bookshelves other than bronze accents and a change in tweeter used.
Looks like the same planar diaphragm tweeters used in S2000PRO

Hmm
I sense some deja vu in the S350DB with their tweeters used from S1000DB

Edifier S350DB Review

First of all I would like to thank Edifier Malaysia for giving me a chance to review this unit.

I've been able to test most of Edifier's high end "Signature series" speakers for a while now and since this S530DB came out I was very interested.
My personal unit S530D has been through days of me blasting movies/music whenever I'm back from work and it has served me well but I've always wanted more out of it.
I crave for deeper bass and shinier sparkly trebles out of my ol' S530D.

Fortunately the S350DB came in and fulfilled my needs.

It came in a full colored box. Surprisingly no "box in a box" packaging like how most high end Edifier speakers come with.

Top of the box reveals its frequency spectrum. Looks flat to me. We will know later when I'm done setting this up.

I'm not sure if this was already dented or the courier did this but this painful dent did not hurt the product so it's going to be fine.

Well nope. This may look the same but the guts are different. And from what I know these were tuned to be studio speakers (just like the studio series)
Lets just get to the item shall we?

Well packed Edifier styled double box packaging.
Definitely an effort to protection as the city link courier just loves tossing the package roughly.

Straight to the main box with a dent on the bottom thanks to the grumpy lorry driver.
But hey~ Color printed stickers on the packaging

More details

Probably the first time I see a frequency chart on any Edifier product. Seems informative as it looks quite flat like most charts I see from speaker dealers.

I present to you... Edifier's latest "gaming?" headphone Edifier G2.
Edifier has been into ordinary headphones and communicator headphones for average skype calls. This is their first attempt to design a very gaming styled headphone.

(note: Edifier already sent me this headphone previously but it wasn't international version so it got taken down. But overall they sound the same to me so some of my review was copied from my previous review)

Check out the design on this box. Pretty good looking.

Box got a little crushed during shipping. But it held up well protecting the goods.

Thanks Edifier for the opportunity to review these goods

This review is mainly focused on the S1000.
Previously there was the S2000/S2000V but it was unheard of and kinda disappeared in the market. Only a small number of people knew and heard about it and was crazy about it until 2014. I managed to listen to the older brother once but can't remember how it sounds like but it was good.

If I'm not wrong the S1000 is a successor model for the S2000.

Opening the box shows a good layout on packaging. But my unit is missing something. The shiny silver remote is missing. NOOOO
It got lost in shipment as the box was kinda loosely packed when I received it. Edifier is sending me another remote to complete my review so I'll leave an empty spot somewhere

But overall you get your standard analogue rca to 3.5mm cable, speaker cable with 5 pin xlr connectors and standard Edifier toslink to toslink optical cable.
You should get your remote on the rectangular slot as well as power cable on the curved slot on the top

Edifier redesigned their analogue cable
I see smooth shapes and gold plates which wasn't present in the general analogue cables in the past.
Nothing much to say other than it works as it should.

I dug the box deeper and I found the little instruction manual and an extra paper which I believe is a service card?
Not too sure as my chinese is bad but none of these matter as these are China samples. The international version will be in multilanguage for both instruction and warranty card.

The cable is something worth mentioning. It is an unusual 5 pin xlr cable for its connection. It is not the same with the R2800 I reviewed in the past but they are similar to many of the R series cable.
Knowing that it has its own cable that means there is no way to extend these cables longer yourself unless you can find yourself 5 pin xlr cable and able to wire things yourselves.
The length of this cables is about 120 inches long. That's longer than any of us need for daily use so you don't have to worry about having short cables for a huge movie room setup

what's great about these cables are they're soft despite being such a thick cable. They are really soft compared to PC power supply cables of the same thickness. No worries about unorganized cables.

Grado Earpads from china stores?

I tried asking at grado fanclub thread here but no one seemed to answer.

My earpads are dying as usual. My replacement is deteriorating and particles are going into my ears (ewwww)
And Jaben seems to go out of stock each time I visit? I should visit again soon.

I found a few links online that sells them cheap but they are from odd places in china
Anyone has any experience with this? In fact are they even the same thing?.
I've been swapping my turns of HD414 pads and stock grado and still finds grado cushions the best.

Mi Headphone (not the earphone) Complete

To begin my introduction. I grabbed mine during the Mi Festival online and I was the last one to obtain it.

anyway the package was delivered with FedEx and it arrived in less than 5 days? I don't remember but it was less than a week and the box is massive.

i have my guinea pig as a reference on how big is the box. (guinea pig not included)

This type of "box covered in sleeve" is getting common in products.

But I personally liked the way they present the earpads in a 2 door box that opens in the middle

You get the Large leather? earpads first.

then this round pill shaped hardcase that was designed by 1More Design (that designs most of xiaomi's headphones)

To start this review
I would like to thank Edifier for sending out this speaker for review. It's not small my friend. (For all S730D and S550 owners, you will understand the size of it.)
Edifier also had one of their members personally drove all the way to my house to deliver this unit to me

I'm thankful to have this chance to review this beast.

Package Design/Unboxing/First Impression
I live in a small terrace house. I was worried that this takes up too much space but I guess the size isn't too big like I imagine.
It is surprisingly light for a massive speaker setup. The person who delivered the speaker to my house was a young man and he carried the largest box into my house with no problem.

I don't remember it being that lightweight (I'll talk about the weight later in the review)
As I have carried the box of the Edifier S730D, it was way much heavier than this unit

The box was a recycled box from an older model named S550.
I'm guessing this was Edifier's display unit or something? I didn't ask.

Like most Edifier boxes, Edifier is generous by giving box-in-a-box configuration. It's just to prevent box from tearing as well as a good shield against impact.

Opening the small box confirms that it's Edifier S760D alright

Heavy Duty RCA cables for analog 5.1 connections.

They're in a ribbon form so customers don't have to worry about cable jungles but.....

There's still no escape to these shiny speaker wires

(I'm supposed to get the 3.5mm to RCA cables according to the instruction manual but I didn't get any here.)

I bought a flashlight... and thought of topping it up with something else (a 5mw blue laser pen) so I can get the tracking number for my shipment.

I was wondering how legal is it to own a laser in malaysia...

just afraid that they see laser they ban and throw it away along with my flashlight when it goes through customs

As much as I love my laptop (dell vostro 1450), I'm not getting any charge through it

Not a battery problem, not power cables.
I believe it is an internal problem.

Currently I had to use another laptop to charge my current battery just for it to work.

but for my case... the charge stays at the same spot... 0% charging for entire whole day no change.

What solutions can I do to my windows 7?
Been googling for solutions but no answer despite following their steps

-I've done the Microsoft ACPI troubleshoot (uninstalling or disabling doesn't help)
-Bios update doesn't work
-Dell battery protection etc,etc... is off to ensure my laptop is charging but I can't charge still
