Laptop shut down instead of hibernate

These past few weeks, whenever I put my laptop in hibernate mode, when I try to on again, it will come out this msg 'Windows does not shut down properly...'
Any idea what's wrong with it? For your info, mine is Dell Inspiron and using Windows 7.
