Help! how to connect two wireless routers together

I have one wireless router connected to the internet. I would like to use another one to connect to it on a portable (aka wireless) piece of equipment. I would like to be able to access the network and internet on the first router & from the second router.

How do I configure the second router to wirelessly connect to the first router and allow access to the internet and the other network? what devices(s) i need to do this?
