Sign of pc got hacked?

hello to all guru's here..

My problem started when my old desktop running on Win XP SP1 always restart itself or hanged and sometimes the dvd-rom eject by itself. The problem soon became more serious and it occured more & more often. Sometimes, it happened even when i wasn't connected to the internet (strange). After i reformatted the pc, same thing happened. After few months, it became so bad that i bought a new lappy and did not use my desktop anymore.

After that, it turned to my sister's desktop (also Win XP SP1). Same thing happened and now everytime he start his pc, after a while the pc will hang/restart itself.

Now i'm using laptop (win vista), so far got no problem...but sometimes have to restart router because cannot load page.

Is this the sign of my house internet line /pc's kena hacked? Or is it virus?
