Mass storage controller problem

Im using windows xp and suddenly i got this mass storage controller problem.It asks for the driver.I have installed and reinstalled nforce 5.10 and 5.11 drivers but it does not solve the problem.Now i cant use my sata dvdwriter.It does not show up in my computer.I have enable sata in the bios.I even tried sata raid but still cant detect my dvdwriter.

When booting in the sata menu the dvdwriter is detected.

Anybody knows how to solve this problem?Thanks in advance.

IDE to SATA Converter

I mistakely bought a sata dvd writer althought my pc dont have sata connection.So i bought a ide to sata converter.When i fixed it,the pc stop at the boot up display when it detecting the devices.It wont go to windows.If i remove that card it will boot to windows normally.

My questions are:
1.Does this converter usable for pc with already sata function only as my pc dont have any sata.

2.Do i need to install driver 1st?

3.How to make this thing work?

Im using nf7 mobo.The normal version without sata support.The converter which i bought dont have any drivers or manual.

Convert 4pin power cable to sata power cable

I recently bought a sata dvdrw.My mobo have sata connection.The problem is my powersupply dont have a sata power cable.Are there any converter available to convert my 4 pin power supply to sata power supply?I could not find such converter in lelong and lowyat sale.Thanks.

I have bought a used hu.I tend to test it without installing it.Can i just fix the + and - and power it from a 12v battery and test it by playing cd?Of course its connected to a speaker.Can it be done
