Online Collaboration

As the title suggest, I'm seeking bedroom musicians who are interested in this kind of project. This is not a band and there ain't gonna be a band name and we definitely not gonna be forming one either. By the way, I'm a guitar player. You can check out my YouTube channel at my sig.

I'm gonna be very specific on how I'd like this project to sound, Rock / Metal versions of Top 40s. It can be anything from ABBA to Lady Gaga or Keith Urban etc. Songs not limited to covers. If you're adventurous, we can do some originals. Since it's an online project, your location is not important. So you can be half the world away for all I care.

Collaborators should be committed to a least 1 song until it's complete. You're free to participate further if you want to. You should also have some knowledge in Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) software. It can be anything from Cubase to Reaper. Knowledge of mixing will be advantageous. Apart from your ability to play your instrument of choice, I'd at least expect you to be able to play with a metronome, at least the basic 4/4 count.

As for live jamming sessions, it's not in my initial objective. However, if collaborators agree to jam live, I don't see why not.

So, if you're interested feel free to list your desired songs and provide some intro about yourself and what instruments you play. I will act as the project coordinator as well as a guitarist. Selection of collaborators will depend on similar song choices. We'll work on 1 song at a time.

Fairytale Villains Project

I'm looking for interested musicians to participate in my project. It's a doom/goth rock/metal project. Actually, I don't know what genre is it, I just play and compose what's in my head.

I'm looking for musicians who are into melodic death metal, goth/doom, power metal namely bands like In Flames, Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, Avantasia, etc.

The following link is a demo of a song.

http://soundcloud.com/matikatak/our-disease-demo

I'm looking for a vocalist, a bassist, a guitarist and a drummer. If you can write lyrics about humanity would be excellent cause' i suck in lyric writing. You also must be familiar with DAWs cause' we'll be exchanging ideas via email or some sort. For you info, I'm not looking for professional musicians. All I'm looking for are musicians, regardless your skill level who are interested in writing and performing original songs. So, you can be a beginner for all I care, hey, I'm not that good either.

I'd like to consider this a serious project which I want it to bare some fruits i.e. performing live. For auditioning purpose, please provide some reference of you playing your instrument i.e. youtube, soundcloud etc.

Jamming will be held once every member is free and comfortable with the arrangements. I'd also prefer working adults who have their own transports and gear.

My location is Segambut, KL. If you're interested, pm me with your contact and details.

Cheers \m/

[addedon]November 28, 2011, 11:23 pm[/addedon]nobody interested?

[addedon]November 30, 2011, 11:13 am[/addedon]seriously, no response. not nice ke my song?

What does a Bassist look for in a band?

i'm puzzled to what you bassist expect from a band?

as shadoxicated puts it, this part is misleading, so i'm gonna strike it off. <s>i mean, you know you're important. you know you're the pulse of a band if you join one. so, what is it that makes you, most of you stay away from joining a newly formed band regardless if it's a tribute, cover, or original band?

are u looking for a band where u can outshine the frontman or lead guitarist?</s>

Tell me, share me your pain. i want to know the rhythm side of the story. i can imagine how glorious it would be to be a hero like paul gilbert (i refer to him cos i find lots of LYN are a fan of his) but i can't understand the silence of a rhythm player.

for starters, i've been actively playing the guitar for 2 years plus. from knowing nothing about scales and how to apply them to what i'm capable of now.

i know that playing with the metronome is the only way to develop speed. but my question is how not to get bored after say 10 mins of such exercise? shredders, share your light
