i just bought WD Elements ext HDD 500GB... my question is

what software can i use to protect my HDD from unauthorized users.. means that if my HDD stolen or lost, they cant see my data coz i've backup all my sexy pic in there..

insufficient disk space to hotfix unreadable file

my pc came out with the blue screen, restart, and run chkdsk for partition D. and this word "insufficient disk space to hotfix unreadable file <number>" came out dunno when it will finished. can i interrupted it by turn off the plug or wait till finish?

I have two hard drives in my computer. 2nd HDD has two partitions for drive D: and E: both my hard drive are SATA. They are both detected in BIOS as well as my Optical Drive. But from time to time, my 2nd HDD which has the drive D: and E: missing in my computer and i cant access it but when i go to disk management and do the 'rescan disks' it appears but then sometimes it's not detected and windows explorer suddenly freezes especially when i am accessing the drive that is mentioned.
why? virus? power supply? cable?

one set acer pc.
80gig hdd + 500gig hdd western digital(the problem one), two partition, D & E 250 gig each.
