Hi guys,
I have a Acbel 300w PSU with 20pin cable. Model no. API3PC46m however I dont think I have 20pin rig to test this thing, let alone both of my PC is 24pin and got power hungry GPU like 9800GT,GTX570 so non-of this are an option either.

+3.3V and +5v = 145w
+12v = 168w

I am just curious if I could reuse this PSU for Zacate machine, but I have to test first(with no or minimal cost) b4 buying Zacate. Since it was working perfectly 3years ago but I left it in store room for 3 years. So Any idea how to test this thing?

hey guys whats the best online storage out there nowadays?

1. Large storage space (prefer large 100GB to unlimited)
2. Large per file size upload/download for personal use. (perfer unlimited or large size like >50GB)
3. No expiry date due to inactivity. Megaupload has one.
4. Doesnt matter if there is a client software or not, as long I can access the file @ decent Download/upload speed @ unifi 5mbps speed.

Personal equipment
Modem: With TM D-link DIR615/BTU or without
Router: Mikrotik 750G/ Aztech WL830RT4
Firewall used: ZoneAlarm security suite with or without. Both PC have windows firewall OFF

Problem details

I test 2 network setups for connecting my 2 PCs.
Both PCs are using X64 windows 7 ultimate.

Network Setup 1. BTU <--> DIR-615 as Bridge <--> WL830RT4 <--> PC1/PC2
Network Setup 2. BTU <--> RB750G <--> PC1/PC2

Problems

Case 1
- using network setup 1.
- Internet = Off (aka disconnect BTU) When I off my internet line
- Router = WL830RT4
- Firewall off and on produce same result.

if PC1 ping to PC2 I get ping like this.

Pinging 192.168.1.100 with 32 bytes of data:
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Reply from 192.168.1.100: bytes=32 time=1056ms TTL=128
Reply from 192.168.1.100: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=128

if I ping from PC2 to PC1, I got 1ms local ping.

1. As far as I know firewall isnt the culprit.
2. As long as I stay online my local LAN isnt giving me problems on PC1.
3. ping works on both sides? in this case why 1 sided only?

Just curious are there any of these kind of motherboard still selling new in the market?

1. With onboard ATI graphic
2. Support AM3/AM2+ AMD CPU
3. Use DDR2 800+ or above.
4. Comes with RAID
5. How much is the price for a new one?

Currently Only seems to have these 2 in my mind, but not sure they are still selling new or not

OeM WinXP home key problems.

Ok guys I dug up my old Laptop that I didnt turn on for >6years. I plan to turn this Laptop to a bittorent machine.

It have this Original XP Home sticker behind the laptop casing with the CD key(Probably OEM).

however the problems comes when I lost my Installer CD. Because after 6years of not switching on, i have no idea where the heck I put my installer CD. And I do not have any XP home CDs.

Currently the only way of me getting the XP home is to DL the Original unactivated retail copy from torrent.

As far as I search google OEM key doesnt work on retail copy.

Since this Laptop is kinda old, it doesnt make any sense to ask another Installer CD from my manufacturer, and probably they gonna charge me inflation price for the CD if they have it.

So guys what should I do to get my original XP home work without any cost?

Ok I have not been following hardware for a while since Pentium 4/D era.

From the previous day, a Pentium 4 with 800FSB is enough to be supplied by a dual channel DDR400.

Since a 800FSB Pentium 4 is technically having about 6.4GB/s bandwidth. A dual channel DDR400 is also 6.4GB/s bandwidth.

ok now the question is,

if a Core 2 Quad running a FSB 1600. Is it true that a single channel of DDR3 1600 is sufficient to feed this CPU needs? I guess it is quite logical, unless these guys change the DDR/FSB naming numbers again.

Whats the most affordable SLI motherboard?

As you all know it is rather confusing for Intel chipset naming scheme,

I had not been following the hardware motherboard lately, searching each motherboard and viewing each brand on each motherboard prove to be rather tedious job. And those manufactuer dont group SLI board together.

Having plan to upgrade my existing computer. I would like to know

- SLI support (I dont feel like dumping my 9800GT for newer card)
- Number of RAM DIMM wont matter be it 2 DIMMs or 4 DIMMs (preferable)
- Able to use Pentium D 2.66GHz until I upgrade my CPU to Core 2 Quad later when price went down further.
- Use DDR2
- Number of SATA ports, other features are not my primary concern
- Chipset either Nvidia/Intel wont matter as long their are realiable.

My budget is around somewhere RM250-RM350.

I am wondering does the market offer this kind of motherboard that anyone here can highlight to me?

or do I have to switch over to AMD?

Ping Issues

Hi there,

I am facing some problem that I cannot ping certain IPs even I know the server is not dead.

for example.

I can use ping to ping google, yahoo.com, it all work fine.

but if I ping the IP that I typed in it return timeout. *Note the server is not dead. I can use their software to log into that server and use zonealarm log to catch the IP. Then I try to ping that IP, which return timeout.

Does this have to do with the server on the other side does not respond to any ping request? Anyone here can enlighten me?

Inactive Machine - Was in good condition

Hi Lowyatian,

I have 2 Old machines that was as good as 100% condition when I switch off long ago (may be 1-2years, couldnt remember) but today I checked and try switch it on but I cant get it to power up. It just wont switch on.

Heres are the following machine
Pentium 3 733MHz - 9 years old.
AthlonXp2400+ - 8 years old.

It was working perfectly the last time I switch it off which is long ago. Now it doesnt seems to switching on at all. Anyone here face this kind of weird problem, can u guys list the possible problem I could be facing?

I agree with the Threadstarter

If u guys check the real world forum. At least half of the members are posting news, source, articles, links. then nothing else. Then another 25% of the members quoting the news, source & etc with just a 1 line reply without saying anything constructive. And there is already a sticky thread in the forum for those news articles, links, but the members are still posting news across the forum.

Some of the members if u trace their posts about 80% of their posts is all about news,source, articles & etc. They have say little or none constructive reply in the entire forum.
I find it it ultimately defeat the purpose of having "real world forum". May be we should rename it as "The Star" in lowyat forum, it is becoming to look like Kopitiam/Spamming heaven.

I had PM 3 Mods to fix this problem, and try keep it within PMs. So far I only got one reply from one of the highly respected mod that stating to follow up after the other 2 who did online recently. 6 days has passes, no update or anything happen, and the real world forum still polluted.

I guess I have no choice but to post here to get notice.

if such problem still unsolve, I start a thread about it in this forum.

If all didnt work, I step out of Real world forum and call it as another version of Kopitiam.

Disable post count increment

Recently I found out there a lot of low life creatures who like to waste their time to reply their post in a few post together.

It makes me harder to scroll through a few post continuously just to read the same loser who write a few lines of thing.

I would like to purpose, If the user post a few post in a row, it will counted as 1 post. Is it possible/programitically implement this feature.
