Hi, I accidentally went and delete a folder by mistake. When Windows 7 was calculating the folder size to delete, I cancelled it as soon as I saw it. I checked to recycle bin and there was nothing. I tested the archives there with 7zip and found no errors. I am wondering if there any files deleted when Windows is 'calculating' ?

Hi,

I am unfamiliar with the workings of using an external monitor. I am looking to buy a hdmi to vga cable to connect my Lenovo Y580 to an external monitor (BenQ).

Will this cable in the link below work?

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/331251498003?eu...2fd517ed82&cp=1

I am asking here as the seller is unsure.

Thanks!

Edit: Resolved.

Harddrive durability

Hi,

A quick question,

Does slamming the table with say heavy books as I am unloading my bag damage hard drives? The laptop and the external HDD I have are not on when I did it.

I have heard that if they are turned on then it will damage the HDD as it vibrates it. But if they are not turned on, will it matter?

I did it a number of times and I did not really think of it until now.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have just replaced my harddrive in my laptop. I am currently using an SSD as the main drive while the harddrive will be a storage drive. As I will be transferring files from an external drive into my storage drive, will using the computer for programs that are in the SSD affect the data transfer like corrupting files?

Thanks.

Reconnecting SSD repeatedly

Hi,

Due to unforeseen circumstances and my idiocy, I reconnected my SSD in and out about almost 10 times in a row.

While I reinserted the SSD with care, I am wondering if this will have effect on the SSD or hard drive? I realised that they are not like power adapters that can be plugged in and out many times.

Thanks.

Laptop Hard drive vibrating

Hi,

I am currently using Lenovo Y580 laptop and I just replaced my hard drive to a 1TB western digital hard drive.

I am only using it as storage as I have a SSD there as the main drive.

I noticed that the hard drive vibrates all the time even whenever there is any activity where I can definitely feel it on my palm. It is not severe but enough to annoy me.

It passes harddrive test. I compared by swapping in my old hard drives (Seagate and Samung) and there was literally no vibration.

Is it normal? Can it be fixed? I am thinking of going back to the shop and ask for a change.

Thanks

Hi, I am wondering if anyone knows that interviewers are critical of what subjects we take for CPA certification?

I am planning to take an 'easier' paper instead of audit or tax for example, I am worried if it will put me at a disadvantage when it comes to future job hunts.

edit: I am currently already working so I will applying for senior roles in the future.

Thanks.

I got a police letter

Hi,

I just got a police letter with someone claiming that I knocked into him last week.

Here is my story:
I was driving on the left and suddenly the car in front just stopped (slight emergency brake as it was jam) and I stopped as well. I then switch to the right lane as I see that the lane was moving.

I look back and I saw that car was on hazard light but I ignored thinking that car rosak.

My car is free from any damage what so ever.

Please advice what should I do? I am planning to tell the police what I know but will the plaintiff counter report and said I lied? I dont want any trouble over something I did not commit.

Help

Just tell me if I posted on the wrong forum
