Motherboard or CPU died?

Hi all,

I have a problem with my PC whereby sometimes it works fine, and sometimes it doesnt even want to load into BIOS. No beep nothing at all..

Would like to ask, if a CPU died, does the motherboard still give beeps? And what are the symptoms of a dead CPU?

How about motherboard? When the problem occured again last night, I took out all the RAM and booted up my PC. No beeps at all. Usually when there is no RAM's in the slot, there will be beeps right?

Hope somebody here can help me. I'm clueless! Thanks all!

PC Gone Haywire

Hello all,

Recently, my PSU got KO-ed (think is due to the heavy rain) and it leaked some liquid out of it. It was Enermax TomaHawk 500W and i had it replaced already, hoping that only my PSU gone, not others. I replaced with the same model, but 400W (cause 500W out of stock, and the next available 1 was out of my budget at that time).

The thing is, yesterday night while watching DVD, the PC restarts itself. And this time, it fails to even load into bios. Is like when u press the Power On button, the CPU fan, GFX fan starts spinning, and then like reboot again. and again and again. Even before it hits bios...

But this morning after i woke up i tried again, it's able to work.... really blur now...

I wonder what could the reason be?

1) Mobo KO?
2) HDD KO?
3) GFX KO?
4) 400w not enough? (my pc specs as below)

Enermax TomaHawk 400w
Intel C2D E8400 3.0ghz
Intel DP43TF mobo
Corsair 4GB DDR2 6400 C3 DHX XMS2 Twin
Seagate 500GB 7200rpm 32mb SATA HDD
Sapphire ATI HD4850 512mb DDR2 PCI-E
SamSung internal DVD-rw

Anyone here faced this kind of problem before?

No Access to Network vs Emergency Call only

Hey all,

I would like to ask.. whats the difference between "No access to network" and "Emergency Call Only".

Cause lately, i've been getting this "No access to network" thingy on my phone (Instead of My Maxis), in my cubicle at office. But other colleague seems to be fine.

Not sure what might cause this. I know that the washroom area got no line, so sometimes it shows "Emergency Call only" before this. Only past few days got the no access to network thingy..

Anyone has any idea what it might be? Called the customer service up, they say maybe might be sim card. Jus try to change it at maxis center...

XP install causes BSOD

Hello all,

I just bought myself a new PC today, got home, and was excited to install the OS. The OS that I have is a pretty old one, Windows XP Pro (Service Pack 1a).

So as usual, booted the PC with the CD in it. So did the usual steps in installing an OS. When it comes to the windows setup part, particularly the "installing devices", it suddenly stops and the BSOD comes out.

Is it because that windows XP sp1 is not allowed to be installed on this system, or it's due to a hardware malfunction?

Anyone here faced this problem b4? Really potong stim.. haha

ADSL Light blinks...

Broadband provider
ISP/package: Streamyx
Location: Bukit Jalil (KL)
Have you called your ISP's helpline?: A few times

Personal equipment
Modem: AzTech 350e
Router: Same
Firewall used: -

Problem details
First occurence of problem: Last Thursday, 8th March 2007
Problem frequency: Until now..
Problem description:

Well, it all started one faithful Thursday night. As i got back from work, and wanted to use the net, I notice that there wasnt any connecton activity so i rebooted my router. And after that, the adsl light doestn stop blinking.

So i checked my phone line, and realise that it has been "potong" already, a few months didnt settle bill. I called up TmNet hotline, and they say my streamyx account has been suspended. So the next day (Friday), I settle all bills, my phone line was active again, and on Saturday, my streamyx account was back to active.

But the thing is now, even after both account is back to active, my adsl lights is still blinking. Tmnet support ask to connect directly to the phone jack without splitter, to connect manually and bla bla... still the same...

Anyone knows what is the reason? Can it be because they have blocked my port, they have not re-opened it yet? Maybe i will have to wait until a working day tomorrow?

Or maybe the service around my area (bukit jalil), is down?

MSN Disconnects

Hey all...

why i'm posting in the network section regarding my problem because i think it has something to do with connection/networking.

Firstly, i'm sharing an internet connection with my hsemate through a routermodem. Our MSN is always disconnecting for dunno wat reasons. Other things such as browsing, downloading and other Instant messengers (Yahoo, Skype) are all working fine. Only MSN is disconnecting on and off...

Can it be a problem with the routermodem? It's an aztech routermodem..

Hope there is a solution here for it. Anyone faced this before?
