GT300's Fermi architecture unveiled

While amd launched graphics card with DirectX 11 support a week ago, nvidia has revealed details of its graphics chip. cGPU GT300 will have over packing a whopping 512 cores into one chip. Coupled with up to 6GB GDDR5 memory (4GB for graphics cards, 2GB for HPC cards) and will be the first graphics card to include support for C++ code execution, and the first chip to include L1 and L2 cache.

cGPU specifications:

* 3.0 billion transistors
* 40nm TSMC
* 384-bit memory interface
* 512 shader cores [renamed into CUDA Cores]
* 32 CUDA cores per Shader Cluster
* 1MB L1 cache memory [divided into 16KB Cache - Shared Memory]
* 768KB L2 unified cache memory
* Up to 6GB GDDR5 memory
* Half Speed IEEE 754 Double Precision

I got this msg, "the update does not apply to your system"
HD5850, vista ultimate sp2 and new directx august 2009 already installed in my system...why?

Malaysia shuts down bittorent site

The Malaysian government has ordered webhosting provider Shinjiru to close down BitTorrent site LeechersLair.com.

The execution order came from the catch-titled Content, Consumer and Network Security Division of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.

LeechersLair was a well-established tracker which was launched in 2006. It had more than 18,000 members and was hosted in Malaysia. The Commission order the closure claiming that the site was in breach of Section 41 of the Copyright Act 1987.

Periodically the Malaysian government has moved against torrent sites hosted by Shinjiru but most of them returned elsewhere. However what is alarming this time is that the government has installed a hard-drive on the Shinjiru server.
