Diaspora: Shattered Armistice

Haven't seen a post yet regarding this, not many space simmers around I guess.

http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=81859.0

Cut a long story short, Diaspora is a space combat sim based on the new Battlestar Galactica series (the one with Ronald D. Moore helming), featuring a full array of features, including fully voiced missions, a lovely 3D cockpit, and some of the best show-accurate Viper vs Raider combat since BtRL. If you were aware of the Wing Commander Saga mod previously, this game is based on the same engine, but with some newer features to accommodate the game effects.

Trailer below:
[YOUTUBE]DWt2m1xtJbw[/YOUTUBE]

Primary download links are via torrent:

Windows: http://diaspora.fs2downloads.com/Diaspora_...ows.exe.torrent
Mac: http://diaspora.fs2downloads.com/Diaspora_R1_Mac.dmg.torrent
Linux: http://diaspora.fs2downloads.com/Diaspora_...ar.lzma.torrent

More details can be found in the thread linked above.

Help optimizing SQL query

Hey guys, I'm just coming here with a question about a query of mine.

Basically I've been tasked to create a program that needs to select a subset of records from a table that don't share a key with records in another, separate table. The problem is, this first table has 300k records and naively typing the query causes some really long processing times, which is no good for testing. Here's the query I'm using for now.

CODE

select * from <CENSORED>.table1
where <CENSORED>.table1.EPT_MBR_IC not in
( select <CENSORED>.table2.MBR_IC_NBR from <CENSORED>.table2 )

Any thoughts on where to start? I'm not a specialist with databases so I might be rough with this sorta thing.

table1 has 320,000+- entries while table2 has 6,426 entries.

Dell monitor problem

Hey guys, have a bit of a prob here with my monitor. Lately, as in yesterday lately, my decently new (4-6 mo) Dell LCD monitor (type E196FP according to Windows) keeps deciding to black out after leaving it in standby mode for a long time (say, 7-8 hours). When I turn it on the power button shows green, but the backlight doesn't switch on. Attempting to switch it on and off in quick succession forces the picture out, but 1-2 seconds later the thing goes back to black again. It doesn't seem to be a video card error, since I'm typing this using my old 15 inch NEC CRT secondary, and that seems to be showing picture fine. What do I do, Tech Support?
