anyone using any system for complete home theatre automation to dim the lights, activate the screen, TV, projector .. etc all from an intelligent control systems?

Dumb chargers = those that comes bundled in the bubble pack?
Intelligent Chargers = -dV, 0 dV, Vpeak, time, temp .... bla bla bla?

which is the recommended one to use for the rechargables (NiMH / LSD)? too much hype ... please share your experiences and opinions here. Thanks.
