[WTA] whether a seller should bear the losses?

[WTA] whether a seller should bear the losses if the buyer did not recieve the parcel.

Situation as below:

1) The seller, as usual, sent the parcel (using Pos Express) according to the buyer's address as provided after received payment. Seller also provide buyer with tracking number.

2) After week days, almost a week, the buyer claimed that he/she did not received the item that he/she pay for.

3) The buyer told the seller about the case and seller helped to trace the item. The result was that the item was at the "Final Delivery" status. The seller called the post office to trace again. The post office officer then asked the postman whether did he post to the address. The postman claimed that he did post the parcel and as usual he just dropped in the mail box. The officer there also called the buyer telling that the postman did sent the parcel to buyer's mail box.

4) Therefore, the buyer want to claim for a 50-50 remedies, where either the seller pay back half the amount of the item or the buyer pay half the amount of the item and required the seller to again send the same thing to him/her.

I just want to seek opinion on how to solve this problem. Whether the seller or buyer is responsible in this case??? Or is there any other better solutions???
