Bila nak kahwin je pihak perempuan nak letak wang hantaran tinggi. Lagi tinggi belajar, lagi mahal letak. Kena la bertolak ansur, takkan la nak bagi bakal suami berhutang.

Satu lagi masalah bila nak kahwin, kenduri tu mesti nak besar-besaran. Kos nak buat kenduri bukan murah. Biarlah bersederhana dan faham situasi kedua belah pihak.

3. Terpaksa berhutang untuk kahwin

Bila dah letak hantaran tinggi dan buat majlis besar-besaran, terpaksa la berhutang semata-mata. Hutang tu nantilah yang akan timbulkan konflik dalam rumah tangga.

4. Kos sara hidup makin tinggi

Kos sara hidup makin tinggi dan untuk hidup berkeluarga kena hidup sederhana. Nak kena cari sewa rumah dengan harga berpatutan, kurangkan makan di luar dan sebagainya.

5. Kos perbelanjaan anak membebankan

Bila dah kahwin dan ada anak, banyak duit kena keluar. Nak kena fikir perbelanjaan sekolah dan kelas tambahan untuk anak-anak. Tu yang ramai takut nak kahwin!

Selapas satu-satu kontroversi melalui kenyataan yang dikeluarkan oleh Timbalan Menteri Perdagangan Antarabangsa Dan Industri, Datuk Ahmad Maslan, nampaknya cadangan beliau dan saranannya kali ini bolehlah diterima pakai.

Memetik laporan Malaysiakini, Ahmad kali ini dilihat masih dengan berpendirian yang sama iaitu terus mempromosikan perniagaan atas talian oleh rakyat untuk menambah pendapatan sampingan.

Menurut beliau, lebih baik rakyat Malaysia belajar untuk berniaga atas talian daripada menghabiskan masa mereka sampai tengah malam melayari media sosial.

“Rakyat Malaysia ini minat media sosial, kadangkala berwhatsapp sampai jauh tengah malam, FB dan Twitter. Tak tahulah hasil apa yang mereka dapat itu.

"Alangkah eloknya kalau mereka belajar tentang e-dagang. Dalam digital ekonomi ini boleh menambah pendapatan,” kata timbalan menteri perdagangan antarabangsa dan industri (MITI) dalam sidang media selepas melawat Pusat Pameran Eksport Malaysia hari ini.

Ahmad sebelum ini telah dilanda kontroversi terbaru apabila beliau mengeluarkan saranan supaya rakyat melakukan dua kerja untuk menghadapi kenaikan kos sara hidup yang semakin tinggi di mana ia dikritik teruk netizen bahkan turut dikritik dari ahli akademik dan agamawan.

Bagaimanapun untuk menjawab kritikan itu beliau memuatnaik statusnya di laman Twitter yang menyatakan beliau juga melakukan tiga kerja iaitu timbalan menteri, anggota parlimen dan ketua penerangan Umno.

After an uproar over roof features that resemble a cross in Langkawi, Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar laments that Malaysians spend too much time on “stupid issues”.

He said this in a Twitter post today, alongside a photo of him posing outside the terrace houses at the heart of the controversy.

“(It is) now repainted after the uproar. We waste too much time on stupid issues,” he said, while noting that the houses have been repainted.

Based on the photo, the vertical section of the “cross” appears to have been painted brown to match the colour of the roof tiles, leaving only a white section that used to form the cross’ “crossbar”.

Last week, photos of the newly built houses near Taman Sri Langkawi and Kampung Bakau, Langkawi, had gone viral.

When seen from the sea, white features along the brown-tiled roofs create the impression of a row of sea-facing white crosses.

This caused some Muslims to express distaste, while others view it as a harmless coincidence.

Kedah Housing Committee chairperson Tajul Urus Mat Zain had said that a meeting was to be held yesterday with the housing developer on the issue.

“I ordered my officers to check on the housing project after pictures of the houses went viral.

“If the crosses are very obvious, my advice to the developer is to re-paint the features,” The Star Online quoted him as saying on Monday.

If you want to hear or read something that your brain can never digest, look no further than comments from our Deputy Prime Minister, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Zahid’s latest gem is: “Don’t blame lopsided privatisation contracts on the government of the day, as they were all signed during previous administrations. I don’t want to name anyone. I don’t want to lay blame on anyone. But don’t blame us and compliment only the previous administration. Don’t blame us for the shit rubbed on you previously.”

Let’s leave out how low it is for a deputy premier to liken anything to excrement when speaking at a public function.

It is amazing how a government that wields so much power over the rakyat can at the same time pretend to be powerless.

Zahid’s finger pointing and pleading of helplessness can be broken with a simple example, available in the public domain.

While the nation is bracing for increases in toll rates on the Plus highway network next year, we can anticipate the justifications coming from the government, which will be something like this: “It was not our doing. The concession was signed a long time ago and we can’t change it.”

Guess what, the government could, if it wanted to.

The Plus network is owned by UEM Engineers Malaysia Berhad, which is a full subsidiary of the government’s strategic investment fund, Khazanah Nasional Berhad. Among those who sit on the board of directors of this company are Prime Minister Najib Razak, Second Finance Minister Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah, and the Secretary-General of the Treasury, Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah.

As you can see, it is a fully government owned company. Hence, it is possible for the government to amend or revise existing concession agreements, if it really cares about not burdening the rakyat further.

It’s not a question of can or cannot. It rather a matter of want or not.

Zahid’s explanation may have been a method of escape, but it doesn’t take much nowadays for people to start drawing out public records and question why the government says it can’t do things that it can actually do.

And when the time comes for a general election, no amount of playing dumb or pointing fingers is going to help the ruling government garner the votes of people who know better.
