(WTA) Aston Martin

Hello guys,

After pestering and convincing my dad to get an exotic (He was never really interested in cars), he finally agreed to consider buying an exotic for leisure driving, weekend trips since he will have more free time after retiring. So, after agreeing, he decided to let me browse around for a suitable fun car, and after having sat in a DB9 a couple of times, I feel that it would be the car I would like my dad to consider buying. Well, I have suggested to him that we get a slightly used 06-08 db9, since the car would be our family's first exotic. However, he is worried about the reliability of a second hand exotic after talking to a few friends who own F-cars. One of them recalled having problems with the gearbox after just 5 days of purchasing an '05 360 Modena, even though a proper PPI from the dealer. So, we considered looking for a brand new DB9, but there doesn't seem to be a dealer around KL. And would it be better servicing a slightly used 06-08 DB9 or just buying a brand new one? I do not really have a clue what the price difference between a new and used DB9 would be, but if the advantages of buying a new DB9 outweigh those of purchasing a used DB9, and does the price gap between a new and used DB9 make up the cost of servicing / repairing a used DB9? Would we have to send the car in for maintenance as often? The bottom line is, should we go for a used or new car, and if new, which dealer should we choose?

Meet Jho Low

QUOTE

Today the New York Post breathlessly reports on a new player on the Manhattan club scene: Taek Jho Low, aka "Jho Low," who has managed to set the nightlife scene "abuzz" simply by: spending lavishly at clubs with his entourage of 10-12 people, living in the same building as Daniel Craig (the Park Imperial), and having a bunch of Escalades. The Post offers a timeline of Low's recent interactions with the rich and famous, including the time he sent 23 bottles of Cristal to Lindsay Lohan at 10Oak, the time he flew a bunch of Pink Elephant waitresses to Malaysia to party, and the time he ran up a $160k tab at Avenue -- during, of all things, fashion week! Who is this chubby, bespectacled Gatsby among us? People are starting to talk. Why, it just simply isn't done:

"One inside observer said, "Nobody spends their own money like that. It's just weird."
It is just weird! Weird foreshadowing, even: it turns out that Low has a benefactor, Kuwaiti Hamad Alwazzan, who admitted to bankrolling Low's high life, which the Post floats but does not confirm included having Megan Fox "flown in" to party with Low in Las Vegas just this month. Megan Fox! Of course. Why not? This story is ridiculous.

Big-spending Malaysian is the mystery man of the city's club scene [NYP}

Sos: http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2009/11/meet_...commented-24h-5
