PC keeps rebooting when inserting 4 x RAM modules

Hi guys,

I've got a Sabertooth Z77 with i7-3770K. After inserting all 4 pieces of Corsair Vengeance Blue 1600 ram, the PC keeps rebooting every 3 seconds or so. The mem_led is constantly lighted up during that 3 secs. Do you know what is wrong? the motherboard or the ram? I've upgraded to the latest bios and using default values.

Besides, i've tested this 4 pieces of ram on the earlier motherboard P8Z68V Pro/Gen3. The same problem. I thought it was the memory slots problem. so, i returned and ordered a different board (the current one).

i got this ram in 2 different batch. It is a 2 x 4G. i bought one pair earlier, then a week later, i bought another pair. So, when i look at the label behind the ram, they have different version/batch number. But specs wise, the same. 9-9-9-24 and 1600.

Appreciate if anyone could help, thanks.

EDIT: I've tested with all the modules going to which slots, and found that no problem with them. Only when all 4 modules in the slots, the system will keep rebooting, even before reaching the bios, first 3-5 secs. When i take out any ram modules from any slots, it will boot into windows without problem.... strange, eh?

Hi guys,

My system has a Intel i7 2700k with a Asus p8z68vpro mobo, with corsair vengeance ddr3-1600 4gb x 4.

System has been working fine since like 3 weeks ago, tested with prime95 - blend a a bit, everything was ok. memtest86+ was ok as well.

Then ran folding@home 24/7 .. then yesterday, i noticed my house got power interruption. system was down. So, i restarted it, and started folding again.

After 2-4 hrs, system rebooted again .. this time no power interruption. then i restarted again... ran for few hours... then rebooted again.

so, i decided to run prime95 with large fft ... it failed with FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4 message. in some core.

then i tried intel burn test with "normal", it said my system is not stable.

I didn't OC my system.

What could be wrong? the cpu? the ram or the mobo, in your opinion?

Thanks.

Asus P8Z68V-Pro Motherboard temp goes up to 99C

Hi guys,

I'm using this motherboard, leaving it on 24/7. Once in a while, the temp will increase to 99celcius. But after rebooting, it will go back to normal... now only 30-40 over celcius.

Is the temp sensor faulty? should i send it back? Actually, i've tried 2 boards, same brand. .. both also got this issue. I'm thinking whether to stay with asus...

Also, another issue, i plug in my headphone to the rear IO port, i'm hearing a soft "hizzing" sound... happens on the 2 boards i've tried also.. but the front speaker port is ok.

2GB or 4GB of sdram for XP Pro 32bit?

Hi guys,

Need your opinion here. 4gb is only a few dollars different from 2gb. So, should i get 4gb over 2gb for my XP Pro 32 bit machine?

My concern is, if XP doesn't recognize 4gb, it will degrade the performance of the system

What do they mean by OC version on a video card?

Hi guys,

i saw some MSI video card mentioned about OC version. What does that mean?

Is it that the card has been "factory pre-overclock" for us? or does it mean that the card can be easily overclock by end user?

Reason i'm asking is because i don't want to get a overclocked card... or pre-overclocked by factory.

Hope you can help with the explanation, Thanks.

Hi all,

Is it possible to divide bandwidth in a router? i'm using the old linksys wrt54g.

Every time when my housemate is downloading torrent, the torrent will use up all the bandwidth. I can't use the internet anymore.

After i reboot the router, i can use it for a while, then after that, when his torrent picks up the speed, then i can't use the internet connection anymore

Any help would be great, thanks.

graphics and photos looks better in mac, why?

Hi guys,

curious about this topic, don't know which particular section i should post this.

I've been on windows platform since the beginning. I've heard saying that, if you do a lot of graphic design, then get a mac.
I didn't really go and compare and windows and mac. Recently, my sis got herself an iMac. WOW, the graphics/display/photos on imac is much much better than mine, windows.

just curious, how can apple achieve this? can i get such quality in windows? .. is it because of the graphic card? 1gb of ram on graphic card? or something else? or windows, the OS or software itself is not capable of producing such beautiful graphics?

What do you say?
