For those who do not know, previously they set the shipping at an absurdly high price to prevent us from buying because of a high rate of shipment gone missing., By ordering in bulk however, it might decrease the chances of shipment lost (hopefully). After some discussion with them, they lowered the shipping cost to around $7.75 with an additional $1 per item added to the shipping.

WTA WD Black2 and other drives...

Hi guys,

I would like to know if it's worth it to buy a wd black2 or just the WD Scorpio black for my laptop with only a single 2.5" bay?
I've seen quite some review that complains about this ssd and hdd combo drive as being overpriced and the performance of both drive is sub par. They do recommend to take a ssd and a hdd instead of this dual drive and it'll be cheaper (maybe they're referring to their desktop, which is not my case).

FYI, my current hdd, for some reason is running very very slow, compare to my friends laptops (which is running on a hdd, not ssd) that's 2 years older than mine. This happens even for both Windows 8 and Windows 7, fresh installed.
At first I thought that it might be because I don't have enough RAM (4GB), so I upgraded it to 8GB. But it's still running at the same speed.
My processor is i5-2410M 2.3 Ghz, and it's faster than my friend's (same guy as the one above), so a slow processor is out of the question.
So that brings me down to my hdd, I suspect that it has something to do with the 5400rpm hdd that's currently installed in my laptop. I've checked my hdd for corrupted or faulty sectors/issues and can't find any errors from it.
So that brings me to the conclusion that I need to change my hdd.

So I would like to ask, should I change it for a wd black2 combo drive or a wd scorpio black? Or is there any better options for a single bay high performance drive available out there? Thanks.

i've seen some with quite a low price like Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP..... but i'm not sure of its quality...
