OBS on second pc no sound

Hey guys,

I usually connect my HDMI from desktop to my older laptop USB cable, and do some recording on the laptop with OBS studio.

I use one of those HDMI USB capture card

Was working fine yesterday morning until I plugged in PS4 controller to my desktop USB port.

Then realised no sound coming out from OBS at my laptop.

HDMI cable works fine as the picture manage to be transferred from desktop to laptop but just sound is gone.

Switch my sound back to HDMI from wireless controller (ps4 controller) also not helping.

I swap the HDMI USB capture card with another captured card - same thing. No sound.

Wonder what went wrong?
Some settings gone?

Is it safe to underclock your processor?

hi all

i have an old intel i3570k processor running on gigabyte z77m d3h

i use hardware monitor/cpuz to look at the temperature reading of all cores

its tj max is 105 C
its core run up to 90~98 C

speed at 3.6 Ghz

so i went to windows power option to reduce the power from 100% to 90%

now the core average around 70 C and speed at 3.3 Ghz

is it safe to underclock?

hmm, where was the previous topic on user-to-user rant ?

anyway, anyone notice the capped/dropped speed on streamyx since last nite around 830pm?

normal speed i get from speedtest (using tm own test ) was 1.7mbps

since last nite speed was capped at 0.2mbps

files deleted without me deleting it

hi everyone,

ok, this is how it goes, i think it all began when...
1 day while pc shutting down, i accidentally close the power cable switch

now everytime i turn on pc, windows ask me scan hdd

but when i try scan it with chkdsk, it will prompt some error - ie unable to check at all

except for the minor annoyance during startup, i ignore the scan hdd prompt (even if i chose to continue the scan it will fail to scan anyway)

today i notice on my desktop a few programs their shortcut have similar icon...when i click it, it says unable to find such program/has been changed/moved.

ok, fine. then i try trace back to the directory at C drive.
the folder still exists, maybe left some useless files inside.

for example, winrar
C:program files > winrar > rarext.dll
all other files gone
now if i deleted it myself i would have removed entire winrar folder rite?
if i uninstall the program it would have remove the shortcut rite?

problem is i never did any uninstall...heck even the windows control panel uninstall still shows Winrar exist there just that the program no longer there

any idea what exactly happen? a few programs show similar symptoms of being deleted without me deleting it.

if HDD error from the above would have caused corrupted files rite? and not 'nicely' removed files with precision.

some virus attack?

no1 else uses my pc except me.

i change with my brother's modem, it has no problem.

i remember win xp has option to create a desktop shortcut to dial up to tmnet.

in win 7 i can't seem to figure out how to do it.

reason is i want to use bridge mode on my modem instead of PPPOE.

if an employee accepted a letter of offer, and clearly stated inside that after confirm, to terminate either party to give 1 month notice.

now, if the co suddenly give 1 month notice (termination letter) to the employee, what can the employee do?

accept the letter?

or co has no rights to give termination letter eventhough the letter of employment said 1 month notice by either party?

Hi guys & gals,

I need a stable and reliable wifi router.

My office currently uses Wifi router supplied with TM Unifi, i think brand is D-Link.

My office is about 1000 Square feet

My boss office room is separated by two walls (plywood kind of wall, thickness of maybe <5cm.)
Gap of his office room is separated by another room.

He complained occasionally the wifi signal will fail.

He tested LAN, it works.

So suspect it could be due to the wall blocking the signal and the distance.

Front reception area and meeting rooms has no wifi signal at all.

Question is, are there good wifi router which has a stronger signal which can penetrates wall blocking to my boss notebook?

Would those router with 4 antenna be good choice?

Recover data from Old IDE Harddisk

Hi guys & gals,

i need help.
i recently got a new mobo (Gigabyte Z77M-D3H) + new processor (i5-3570k)

as with all new mobo, it does not have any IDE connectors, only SATA.

but my old pc is using IDE, including my old IDE Western Digital 160GB Harddisk.

how do i recover my data from my old Harddisk. (coincidentally as i got my new rig, my old rig just went dead, probably jealous of my new rig)

i did bought a Vztec IDE-SATA converter, but it did not able to detect my IDE harddisk at all.

i tried using both new SATA and old IDE harddisk concurrently, my bios does recognise both.
i tried using only old IDE harddisk, my bios still does not recognise it.
i tried using only new SATA, my bios ok with it.

any other recommended tools/stuff i can buy to recover my IDE harddisk data?

any other recommendation?
don't really intend overclock nor add discrete GPU at the moment.

i5 2500k processor (over a phenom x4 965BE) (either one)

Any motherboard recommendation that is stable? (budget RM<400)

for the gpu between these few: (budget <RM500)
sapphire hd 5850 extreme
sapphire hd 5830 extreme
sapphire hd 6790 extreme (seems to perform about same as hd 5830 extreme )

my current mobo supports SATA - can i buy SATA II harddisk and install on it?

i'm not hardcore gamer, so low graphics detail with reasonable frames/sec is sufficient...normal uses for web, java, flash, excel etc...so
is it worth to buy a AMD phenom II x6, or a phenom II x4 is sufficient n can last? or should i go for i3-2100 sandybridge?

not sure anyone posted b4...i was halfway transferring files from my xdcard to my pc...then my camera batteries went dead....

after recharge battery, i can no longer access my xd card camera shows "Xd card error"...windows also cannot access it too...

how to repair my xd card?
