Project : Classified 980x

A project stretched out to 1yr. Due to modifications, waiting new parts & latest technology.

Watercooled : CPU - Mosfet - North/South bridge - VGA. Twin cooling = Double pump, seperate loop.

GPU - EK full face waterblock rev. for XXX edition
CPU - Alphacool
Chipset & Mosfet - Bits Power.
Pump - MCP 355 + EK top
Reservoir - EK tube res 250mm size
Feser Tubing - sadly, i must say FESER tubing feels like my toilet hose. Even my garden hose is way better.
Liquid - Distilled water + non corrosive industrial addictive
Fittings - all Bitspower
Radiator - 1x 360mm Black ICE SR + 1x EK 360mm rad ( 2nd SR rad was damaged so i replaced with EK )
Fans - 120mm x 25mm NMB fan @ 0.22amp, 1600rpm. Being the least vibration, least noise & lease centre dead spot. "small core".
Alphacool Headmaster - pump & fan control with temperature sensor. <----- have not play with it yet till system is up.

Intel 980x -
Corsair Dominator 2000mhz CL 8, 6x 2gb = 12gb
WD Velociraptor SATA-3 600gb x 6units = RAID 0
EVGA Classified x58
Corsair 1000watt or 1200watt whichever arrive ( currently market no stock as of this post )
LIAN LI V2110 full tower case
Pioneer DVDRW

Monitor - 100" SUPER LED <---------------- just for a LAUGH

Stripping out entire case for anodizing & powder coating work. I take a lot of pictures b4 stripping so I can refer back when putting them together again.
There're actually quite a lot of rivets to remove. Removal has to be in sequence when putting them back together again. Miss it & I had to remove the rivets again.
The difficult part is none actually. Other than looking for the correct rivet size. The original rivets at the rear were not counter sunk type. We simply counter sunk it & put in counter sunk rivets to flush flat. I'm not sure if that is case modding or not ..

4mm black sleeve

TO be updated again when all is complete.

This one has humble hardware inside, but loud outside

___________________________________________________________________________

Updated barebone case pictures.

Completely re-anodized. Look at the details

Entire casing was ripped apart, un-riveted, unscrewed piece by piece before going through the process. Was a 5days work for the workshop guys.

Well gentlemen, if u are wondering if i did it myself, no sadly, i dont know how to. It was done by a Singapore based local workshop. Professionally done.

As for the cost of doing it, its more than the casing.

Project DarkGen : WC 8800Ultra & C2D & 7" LCD Mod

My best frend's rig. After sticking to his old humble rig for almost 4yrs, he decided its time for a major upgrade now that CPUs & Rams are cheaper.

Computer Hardwares as follow :

C2D E6600
Gigabyte 8800 Ultra ( non SLI )
Asusn P5NE-SLI ( decided to wack Ultra instead thus save on mobo .. hmm )
Kingston's DDR 2 ( 4x 1GB D9 GMH )
Silverstone Strider 750watt modular PSU
Silverstone TJ-09 chasis ( non side windows as we'll be customizing the window shape )
Asus Sata DVDRW
Hitachi 320GB Sata II Raid 0 x2
Hitachi 500GB Sata II Storage
Auzentech X-Meridien Sound card

Mod hardwares as below :

DangerDen 8800GTX Fullface waterblock
Swiftech Storm II CPU waterblock
Swiftech MCW-30 Chipset block
Swiftech MCP-655 pump
Radiator 2x 120mm
Radiator 1x 120mm
Custom made 5.25" UV Acrylic blue reservoir
Clearflex 1/2" Tubing
PC-ICE Coolant ( color not decided yet )

Other hardware mod : 7" Widescreen LCD ( non touch screen ).

Gonna integrate this small lcd screen somewhere on the chasis & run "dual display". Thus able to surf the web or game while this 2ndary lcd play ur favourite mtv or movies or monitor ur software driven temperature monitor.

Our problems :

TJ-09 isn't that big for WC seriously if we're looking to mount everything intergrated inside, which we always prefer.

The chasis only allow 1piece of 240mm Radiator on top which is not really sufficient for a E6600 @ 3.6ghz & 8800Ultra.

Therefore, we're planning to mount a 2nd single fan 120mm radiator at the exhaust area. We'll need to let the loop run with this plan & check if there's any waterflow restrictions anywhere or bubbles trap. Though its a very powerful 12volt MCP-655, we'll still need to test. Thanks to my buddy we've a good opportunity to test a dual radiator loop

some pictures up first .. tmr will be offically working on it ..

some of the item pics

GTX waterblock on Ultra, we initially decided to go on 2x GTX but drop the idea as he will want to add another Ultra later on since we've already ordered 2x GTX waterblock.

the custom built UV reactive 5.25" water reservoir.. gonna do a nice bezel to fit this in.

res under UV. complete blue ..

4x 1GB D9 GMH, tested 4gb O/C @ 1000mhz, 4,4,4,12
i got rid of all the kingston & warranty stickers then gonna cool with heatspreader + ram cooler.

side display
this picture show my personal memory. 4x 1gb D9 and 4x Corsair XMS2 DDR2 1066mhz @ CL 5. the cheap rams beat the more expensive ones hands down.

the 7" LCD mod.
Project Lianli PC-71 SnowDawgz : Completed project

long time since our last posting .
here's one of our quite recent project.

Major job is top cutting for the 3x 120mm Radiator.

Water cool for CPU & GPU.

E6600 @ 3.6ghz stable

8800GTS 320mb

I luv this roomy case, the top still has plenty of room for additional mod to house harddrive brackets 10harddrives confirm no problem but ..this job just for normal gaming & 2x harddrives.

However, i'm unable to post a super long list of around 20++ images of our work in progress thus, u may have to click on the other link for even more detailed pictures & contents.

Good fun modding this one. Especially the case, being the grandfather of Aluminium casing !! Lian Li PC-71

grandfather of aluminium casing
Lianli PC-71 full tower. so roomy inside, infact interior is bit more spactious than the bit too common TJ-07 we've setup nowadays.

mask out the radgrill's cutting area

mark out the radgrill's cutting area

rotary tool cutting, dont ask me why i dont use jigsaw.
i'm better with rotary tool as more detailed cutting is required for tight corners

cut out. b4 we file to more precise shape.

Edited 21st March 1am ++.

re-open this thread.

Proof of refund has been given, and u have said many times u'll send back the card. but where is it ?? many PMs & recent ones unreplied.

U bought the card at this sales thread below.
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=410933&hl=

Its a pity that I was not around when the vga card was packed & sent.
The person packing was my house maid. I'm sorry she didn't put in the original box as in the pictures in the link above. and only sent the bare card..

If it was me packing, why would i keep the box, cd & manual & accessories ?
so it was my mistake in someway there.

but i need the faulty card back now as u claim.

______________________________________________________________

Below screenshot is provided from the start of this thread as u kept insisting i did not refund u after 2-3days, but i did !! geezz ..

here is all the proof u need anyway.

This screenshot show the RM 350 refund + RM 10 ( for the pos laju fee u gonna send back to me ).
Do note that, it only cost us RM 5 to send it to u. But i've infact sent a nominal bit more for ur lost as well.

Last screenshot here show my account transaction to date.
Lianli A10 - CPU water cooling

The Lianli A10 isn't a huge case like the TJ-07, TJ-09, Stacker 810.
Still a super-mid tower though.

Build wise, solid. I like it very much especially the front door, close magically with a a magnetic touch. The case is pretty silent too !! the outer body has 2mm alu. ah .. most good alu chasis are 2mm thick nowadays.

CPU water cool only with 1x 120mm DD black ice rad, Laing D5, Storm II block.

First 2pictures show b4 water cool.

LOOK Carefully on the top back of the chasis where 1x 120mm fan can be mounted.

THere're actually 2x default holes supposedly to make this chasis water-cooling ready. But its useless. I scan through our range of radiators & NOT even any one of my rads has barbs that fit the default holes. Weird i thought cos Lianli dont make watercooling products ... & for wat radiators are those to holes ready for ? no idea & confused.

Come to think about it again, so wat if we have a radiator that has barbs that fit the 2x default holes ? i tell u guys .. we're gonna have big time headache trying to prevent our hose from touching or rubbing past today's tall heatsink around the CPU area. u know wat i mean ??

Some pictures b4 revamp to dual cooling to wet ur appetite first.

on the way to completing the project now. Will update again when all is completed.

** Customized 5.25" water reservoir for the seperate water-cooling solution.

Pictures below show our past job with normal "single" watercooling.

This guy sent in his rig done up from those typical normal DIY pc shops ..
I wonder why the heck the technician or watever u call him, installed Color CCFL when the entire interiour look like that ... I'm truely amazed, i found 1tube of red CCFL & 1tube of blue CCFL powered by 2different inverters. .. lol Did the technician or the shop out there to sell more things or he's unware that 1inverter support 2tubes ??

CM's 5.25" bay panels which i usually render useless. Oopss .. maybe that's a personal preference that I dont like my front panels look too cheezy with this & that. I'd prefer a plain looking sleek LCD + optical drive that's all ..excuse me all ..

And here's the b4 make over pic ..
