[Electricals] Counterfeit Circuit Breakers Alert

Hey guys, as I was having troubles with my house electrical system, I have realise I have been a victim of fake counterfeit multi9 circuit breakers! You can refer to the following:

FYI, multi9 is a name of a product made by Schneider Electric under their Merlin Gerin branding.

Perhaps if you will want to check whether you're a victim. It is a fire hazard to your house, your family members and your neighbours!

What have I done? I DIY changed all mine to Hager. Now I'm using the following:
1x RCD (63A with 100mA sensitivity)
2x 20A MCB (4.5kA C20)
10x 16A MCB (4.5kA C16)
1x Doublepole 63A MCB (4.5kA C63)
1x SPD215 Surge Protector (This thing costed me RM300++!)

In total I spent RM600 on those. If I ask contractor, it will cost me a thousand! I had referred to www.hager.com.my to find their authorised wholesaler near me and bought directly from them. Some of them may not help you if you're not a contractor. So be like one if possible lol. I was wearing my street attire and didn't look like one but they still helped me.
My desired 6kA B class MCB were not in stock. Since it was urgent, I went with 4.5kA C class MCBs which were in stock. I'll change them to the better ratings when I can find the stock.

Aircon Installation for RM 2.5k? lol

Okie I've been quoted RM 2.5k for aircon installation (excluding the equipment cost). This includes the material costs.

Note the following specifications I have asked for:

0.8mm thickness copper tubings
Total Piping Length: 42m (180 feet)
R410A Refrigerant
Non-concealed PVC Trunking method
2x 1.5HP units, 1x 1HP unit, 1x 2.5HP unit

Another contractor told me the cost of materials is already almost 2k. What do you guys think?

Lightning ELCB Trip Problem

Hi guys,

Since I've moved to my new office 3 years ago, I have always been plagued by this problem. Sometimes the number of trips can be so bad the UPS can't have enough juice to cover up the down times.

Because my office is normally all blinded up on the windows to save aircon bills, any power trip means total darkness. Me and my staff would go around finding a torch light or feel the way to ELCB lol..

Before moving here, my previous office never had such problem. No matter what kind of rains or thunderstorm, it never trip. Neither any of my devices were damaged and we did not have any surge protector.

In this new office, we have fried mobile phones when we were charging it in thunderstorm and also a fried PSU. So we have got ourselves a surge protector. So far so good. The annoying thing - the trip still keeps happening. This is not productive. We sometimes have to stop work completely when our UPS are totally drained out.

Well how come in my previous office, this kind of thing never happened? Secondly, is there anything I can do to totally prevent the trip?
