[Ask] Video Editing - What monitor RGB range

Hi, Video Editors.

May I know do you all set your monitor range to RGB full (0-255) or limited (16-235) ? and why is it better?
From my observation, limited (16-235) gamma looks closer to Ipad, while full (0-255) looks grayer.

Hi, as the topic describe, we all have that few bad team leader, manager, or boss in our past or current job. Some are stupid and not capable to handle the task, some have terrible decision making, some mental is unstable, some are unethical...
Mind sharing what is the worst "upstairs" you ever met in your life?

To me, mine is quite simple. My manager is a "thousand face", which face shift quickly between boss, client, rival team manager, and us. To us, when she is in deep shit, we will see her tender like a sheep or treated us like the best friend of hers. (so that we could OT out of a "friend" request?) When we no longer has value to her...hmm hmm, she is like a guru lecturing us her philosophy that no one cares...I mean, we have our way of doing thing faster and more efficient right?

What really shows the thousand face is when she were order by boss to collaborate with our rival team manager (which is quite a nice person, at least we will stay back together for late and she is down to earth), you can see that in front everything was polished nice. When she back to her space or maybe pantry...wow...keep complainting/ commenting. you know maybe some people will talks other's bad so that they looked superior. That really don't gain my respect.... I mean, we just working, wanted to get our job done. Task alone is stressful enough, why create so much drama? Sometimes we walk a way just to take a breathe to clear our mind...those criticizing just bump in.

The contradiction part is when she smiling and complementing her client, while later on handling client's case, those complaint just can't stop.

Isn't it life is that hard for a manager? Man is like more simple minded in this manner...I just want to finish my shit and go home

Hi guys, have you ever tried to take photo or shoot video alone in Kuala Lumpur street?
Around bukit bintang area for modern building / city lifestyle places?
My worry is whether it is safe to shoot alone, cause the camera and lenses usually comes real expensive.

Hi guys,

I am new in making video.
I Own a A6300, 16-50mm, 35mm F1.8 Lens, a pistol grib tripod, and a shotgun microphone.

Every time I added a new gear, I found that there is always things that I can't do. I encounter a lot of challenges, no wonder ppl says this industry is really money burning.
For example, monitor too small,when shoot in flat, can't check whether the object are in focus. Unable to monitor audio, noise too loud. beautiful image and composition but with unpleasant shake.

Recently, I save up some bucks and thought of adding new gear to my armory. Especially in improving my Camera movement.
Do you think that I should Invest in a Gimbal or Slider+Fluid head?
I am interested to shoot more on Narrative Video.

In your opinion, which one will you get first if you were me?

OR do you think that I should get other thing first?

Please help me to diagnose on my PC build.

Hi guys, below are my computer built.

CPU : FX 8320e
MB : Asrock N68C-GS4 FX
GPU : Palit GTX 1060 3GB DDR5
RAM : Kingston 1600mhz 8GB DDR3
HD : WD 1TB SATA 3.0
PSU : Be quiet 600w
CPU cooler : ID cooling forstflow 120L
OS : Win 7

I am currently using Premiere pro 2017.
I have been encountered an issue that whenever I choose to render my video in H.264, it fails after it started render for a few second. The screen just freeze, or BSOD.
So I choose to render in quicktime .mov format. Yet it still have a highly possibility to occur screen freeze or BSOD. Probably 50%, the longer the render time is, the higher the chances.

but daily task and gaming is ok. but occasionally it will bsod, like a 1% chances.
I played dying light before. it was smooth, but has a higher chance of bsod...like 5%.

So I was thinking, what possible issue could cause this BSOD and screen freeze?

My assumption is :
1. Overheating ? (My cpu cooler is weak? )
2. Maybe some hardware like motherboard is not capable of handling these calculation? ( coz I bought an extremely cheap one, not enough budget at that time.)

What do you think guys?
I am considering to upgrade a i7 7700k system on a budget, but im reluctant to spend on that if I could possibly solve this existing problem.
Should I just try to invest a Noctua NH-D15, since it can be reuse if I decided to upgrade it to a Intel system?

Huawei P9 in Feiyu SPG Video Test

Hi, This is my footage taken by Huawei P9 and Feiyu SPG.
Personally feel that P9 video imaging still not that good. The original contrast is too high, can't manually adjust to "flat" image.
therefore, many hi and low light details are lost. But I'm shooting in 60fps. Maybe because of this the ISO rose. "maybe".

For the Feiyu SPG gimbal. you can see that how it helps to stable the video.
am satisfying with it. but need to learn to improves the visual experience. =)

Please comment and help me to improves, I wish to improve in my overall skill. Thanks!

Help. H.264 Rendering crash on PP CC 2017 v11.0.0

Hi guys, I was using premiere pro cs6 to edit my video previously. (without a GPU, using mercury software)

And then I invest a GTX 1060 later, which CS 6 doesn't support. So I decided to upgrade it to CC 2017 version.

It was fun, The editing process if smooth, playback as well. cause I can use my Cuda core to render and playback now. The respond after adding effect is super smooth.

But the nightmare starts when I Render my Video on Adobe Media Encoder CC 2017 V11.0.
For H.264 and H.265 format it always crash, almost 100%. It rendering and preview normally then suddenly it hang, and the screen freeze, gotta restart the pc.

I have made a lot of research on google. been tried :
1. changed the memory setting from performance to memory
2. Set 3gb space for system.
3. clear cache
4. Set it to mercury software

however, it is still the same. I have no problem export in other format like quicktime or avi etc...only happened on H.264

So am looking for someone that solved this problem to shed some light on me.

Below are my spec:
CPU : AMD 8320e
GPU : Gtx 1060
Ram : 8Gb ddr3
Mobo : Asrock N68C
PSU : 600W
OS : Win 7 64bit professional

Help. feel confusing about my saga Soundproofing

Hi there, I just spent about RM 3.3k on my Saga Flx Soundproofing these 2 days.
I'm new on soundproofing, have zero experience, and feel like got conned and being over charged.
Hope bros here that are experience could help me to know am I being charge fairly?

I won't reveal the shop name first, to be fair. Since I might be bugged by my prejudice.

This is what I had Done in these two days:
D1 :
1. 4 Doors dampening + Aero Seal. RM740

D2:
1. Full Floor Soundproofing RM1110
2. Hood RM400
3. Chasis Foam RM750

There are actually few things that bug me. I don't know whether Im being treated unfairly or it is the industrial offer?

1. 4 Doors Dampening RM500 + Aero Seal. RM240

The 4 doors only stick a silver color thing. Is it usually do 1 layer soundproofing for RM100 each door?

The Aero Seal come with 3 rubber(sorry, don't know what this called). 1 Long rubber under the upper bonet, 2 short one left and right front door frame. I feel over priced for 3 rubber...and I thought It included the rear two door too. Since they only mention door Aero seal, of course I will thought they mean the full 4 door aero seal.

2. Full Floor RM1110

At first I was quoted RM 1480 on facebook messenger. they mentioned Fire wall, front wheel arch, and full floor. didnt mention how many layers.
the first day I asked them to reconfirm a price for me, cause I was thinking if I do few sector in 1 shot, maybe can get some discount. That guy didn't mentioned much, just write down the price he offer me, which is 1180 for front and floor, 1280 for rear and boot, 450 for bonet. (but he didn't list down the item in that paper.)

For sure I will thought the 1180 is mean the front (fire wall, front arch wheel) and the floor. as their website only mention Front package and rear package. and the guy from fb messenger also mention 1480 is for this 3 items. but didnt mention how many layers.

Then I have a peek today. I feel quite insecure and confused. Dont know is it the industry method of doing front soundproofing.
coz they only Did 1 layer Dampening and 1 layer white color fiber wool on the floor which I think is fine.
But what really confused me is the Firewall and front arch wheel. They did not remove the original mat under the dash board. did not do dampening, just lift the mat up and stuff the white color fiber wool into it.
I thought their job are not over yet. so I went other place and have a seat. then not a while, they already cover the work with sage original mat, which mean the job is done?

I have asked that guy, how come didnt do front wheel arch one?? then he say the front wheel arch is outside the car that one. that coating do with whole car RM 900+ I forget to mentioned firewall that time, cause I feel tired after waiting for like 3 hours. and my chasis foaming still need to be done yet.

But after I went back home. I feel really confused man. I only looked clearly the invoice are so neat, didnt elaborate further. it only stated RM1110 for "Full floor" and did not mention fire wall etc (ori quote RM1180, they offer to absorb the gst).

So guys, caused I am new and don't know much about this industry. I feel kena tricked especially for the front soundproof package.
When I reached home around 10pm that time. I used torch light to flip the mat a little and see, they like only stuff in 2 layer of fiber wool in front.

After Paying for RM 3300, My front soundproof and bonet should be already good enough to lower the noise. however, the effect is very minimal. When I flip over the mat below the steerling that time, I saw bare metal. I knocked it and it "kong kong kong" ... I feel like the firewall work shouldnt be like that gua? just stuff the wool, not fully stuff also...

sigh.....

Sad man....since he introduce some speaker and carbon cleaning...my total expense for this two days RM3900+. hard earn money, but feeling like kena fool. Can some one please advice me? is this the correct doing and fair price for front soundproofing? I don't know how it look likes, wanna complaint also dont know how.

However, I didnt reflect this problem to the website incharge person. waiting for reply....

Hi, Im a Photography hobbyist.
Wanted to buy a reliable tripod, but there is too much brand out there, dono how to choose.
I have a tight budget too, which is around RM350. Photo shooting is my hobby only, I feel reluctant to invest more than this amount in it.

My requirement is :
1. Stable ( Can shoot sharp image in longer exposure, above 1/30 ?)
2. Reliable ( Make sure the camera wont fall on the floor. the tripod leg height adjuster wont easily loose.)

am I too demanding with this price?

Please advice which brand or model to buy. thanks!!

audit firm job position hierarchy?

Hi friends, im pursuing ACCA and currently at foundation level. just ended my test last week. and I was decided to work in small audit firm and study my acca part time.

But i only own a UEC (chinese private high school certificate) certificate and no working experience(have, but part time and non relevant) currently. I was doubting whether there is any audit firm willing to hike a person that only have a high school certificate. And if possible, may you all describe me the audit frim job position hierarchy? what is the entry level job in audit firm, its task and it minimum qualifications to apply for this job? and how does the enviroment looks like?

I know this route is a tough route. and i slightly understand how busy and stress the job like. but i have already determined to go for this route, to be an CA. no matter how hard it is.

any senior has advise for me? am i possibly apply the entry level job in audit firm? I need your advise. thanks!!!
