Connecting DVD-drive and soundcard

i'm using a samsung dvd-ram drive and an audiotrak Prodigy 7.1 LT. I'm trying to connect both to get a digital output from the dvd-ram drive to the soundcard when i'm playing audio cd. My speaker is Edifier C3. Do i need a digital speaker to utilize this function.

As a start..i have no idea if they are any different using this connection. And how do i detect that i'm actually listening the audio cd via digital output from the dvd-ram drive to the soundcard.

Please enlightened me if they are any mistake here since i'm totally blur about this thing.

I'm using the Plextor PX-740A since mid 2005. But lately i'm having this reading disc problem and it just get worst. When ever i tried to play any movie or Audio cd, at first it won;t be problem..but later..the movie or song will start skipping and i can hear the drive spinning at it's full speed. After i stop it, wait for like one hour n play it back again, it would be ok for while then the problem start. But lately..any disc i put, it would start like hang n it will spin so fast.

Does this mean i have a problem with laser reading mechanism, disc holding mechanism, or the gear and motor rotating the disc need to be oil.

SoundCard for 2.1 speaker

I want to buy a soundcard for my Sonic Gear Armagedon A5 speaker which is a 2.1 speaker. Would there be any much different for this 2.1 set when i wanna choose either audigy value or audigy 4. I know there would be different in 5.1 set but would there be any much in 2.1?

Just don't wanna spend to much to find out that using audigy value would be the same with audigy 4 when used with a 2.1 A5 speaker.

p/s : I'm looking for a system with good bass..big n powerfull bass. Not really looking for a 5.1 system but really looking for good bass. If there are 2.1 system with much more better bass then the 5.1 then ok lah. But if the 5.1 system the bass if better then 2.1, also ok.

Since i donno which one is better and how to compare it, so i need you guys to help me. Currently i'm having my eye on the divoom Xforce5 coz of the nice desing and also it 8 inch woofer with 50 watt rms. But just foundout that edifier also have some with nice spec. So donno how to really determine which one of the above have a nice solid n powerfull bass.

How to measure speaker peformance?

I'm looking for a new speaker and i'm the type that like powerfull bass and nice subwoofer for it. I learned that they are passive and active subwoofer. Some of it says i need an amplifier to power up the speaker for a passive subwoofer if i'm not wrong.If i do, how do i need to connect it? Do i need to do the wiring like how u did it for car audio system?

Another one of my quetion is, does most speaker like SonicGear Armagedon or AltecLansing speker come in with an amplifier? Is it a good idea to buy home theater system, like the small COLBY brand speaker which come with amplifier and used it with my RIG. That speaker i check seems to have a total power ouput of 200 watt which is mush more bigger that SonicGear Armagedon i think.

I do have some idea on how Car audio system works but have no idea if the normal pc speaker do have to use crossover and also amplifier.

Please enlighten me coz i'm looking for a nice speaker with good subwoofer for good bass. And one last thing, does the speaker system total watt determine it speaker output power and performance?

Speed decrease after 1 hour

I'm on streamyx 1mb RM77 with modem & 2 years contract. I'm currently using the Streamyx provided BiPAC modem and Zyxel 5 port switch. I'm sharing this connection with a total of 3 users.

My problem is that, when ever i get connected, my speed would be ok for the first one hour, then after that, it would decrease drasticly sometimes until ym also i hardly can connect. I tried connecting direct to the modem without any p2p for one hour, and after that, the connection decrease.Even try it under bridge mode connection. It would be preety obvious when using p2p coz with the first one hour, getting nice speed, after that, 0 speed. It would get better once i restart the modem. But only last for one hour. Sometimes less. Sometimes, restart also the same thing.

I tried call streamyx helpline n as usuall, those people that don't even know what is line attenuation or SNR margin told me to clear cache n bla2..When i told them that the problem is the connection, not pc, they say, everything is ok here. And i also they would say, "i got no idea why that happen".

I also attach my modem stat page with this. Please check it and tell me what's the problem. I find out that i've never dc even when i connected with bridge mode. Tested for like whole day without restarting the modem n no disconnection. Just super slow speed after one hour.

Please help...

Bridge 2 network cards

I would like to ask..what would happen if i bridge 2 of my network card together? Are there any increase on the speed i get..or it is better of to just use both netword card without bridge it..i have one built in network port and another is pci slot DLink normal network card..
