Hi guys,

I hope this is the right section for this, couldn't find anywhere else on LYN for this. Some time during the MCO I started playing NFS Heat, and...you might know there's a relatively niche part of content creators on YouTube that create cinematic videos in racing games.

WTA: Reliable Paintless Dent Repair

Hi all,

I'm looking for a reliable and trustworthy place to get some paintless dent repairs done for my 2017 Perodua Bezza around Glenmarie. Please let me know if you have any recommendations or contacts.

The damage:
- Small dent on rear bootlid, about a small finger's length.
- Tiny dent on rear right passenger door, about the size of a small fingernail.

All this is from hit-and-runs from shopping trolleys or something in car parks over the past couple of years.

Read that the new RS variant in Malaysia will get a 1.5L NA + iMMD hybrid setup - and this'll be a world-first before any other market gets it. Exciting stuff. I think most of us were expecting the regular 1.5L NA setup that India was getting and probably not the Thai-spec 1.0L turbo. Not sure if ads are legally allowed to clearly cucuk other brands like that video.

Anyway if those 253 Nm numbers are true, I'm a bit worried about the implications of making that much torque on tap accessible to the average Malaysian driver.

Also I really hope they tested this in local climate and traffic conditions as extensively as they did with the previous-gen City Hybrid. What with the MCO in March and all.

<WTA> Purchasing freehold Bumi lot

Hi all,

My wife and I have been shopping around for our first property for our own stay and there's a freehold development that we're really interested in. BUT there are only Bumi lots remaining.

The issue is this - my wife is Bumi but I'm not. In this case;

1) Would it be possible for my wife to buy the property first under my name, then upon VP we change it to joint ownership?
2) Would we even be able to secure a joint loan in the case of the above (since I don't think the bank would approve the loan under solely her name)?
3) If the property and loan are secured under one name, how would this affect the MRTA?

This is a bit complicated due to the whole Bumi/non-Bumi issue - hope we can get some advice on this as it'll be our first purchase.

Whenever I see entry-level vacancies in the advertising industry, it's usually in either the creative team or accounts, so I was wondering how people get into the strategic planning side of things. At the entry-level, are people expected to spend some time as accounts executives first before moving into planning, or are there actually junior strategic planner roles?

The idea for this project was originally conceived during 2008 as a somewhat feature-length film. I was going for over an hour or more - probably the longest GunZ machinima ever. Of course, given the way my schedule (among other things) is now, I realised I really didn't have the time, dedication, and resources for something like that. And then there's the problem of finding a suitable file host given the video's duration and size. It seems like episodic is the way to go, but even then, I'm not sure if I'll be able to churn out instalments with any regularity. Still, this is one of my most professional productions to date, and I think it shows. Though, the voice acting was on the disappointing side, but I guess that's partially my fault since I pulled a random cast out of people I trusted. Anyhow, this is a new milestone for me. Hopefully one of many.

D&D Setting-based Novels

I'm just wondering if anyone else here in LYN reads novels set in D&D settings. You know, Forgotten Realms and the like. If you have, you've probably heard of Drizzt Do'Urden, our overpowered drow dual scimitar-wielding freak of R.A. Salvatore's creation. I swear things get out of control past the very first trilogy.

Anyways, does anyone read Dragonlance? Ever notice the way Weis and Hickman end up using BM or something similar for the spell chants? Well, maybe they used Sanskrit for reference, but seriously, if you know BM, it's readable.

Which section would be appropriate for...

So like, I'm starting college tomorrow, I think it's orientation for the first two days before the actual stuff starts, but yeah, I'm doing my foundation in communications at Taylor's PJ campus at Leisure Commerce Square. Driving there is going to be a pain. I'm pretty anxious since I'm not sure what to expect, though. Is there anyone here studying at Taylor's, too?

YouTube Video Render Settings

Does anyone have any proven effective render settings that provide crisp quality on the YouTube widescreen player? It seems that I can never, EVER get decent quality on YouTube, especially since they started using their widescreen player.

You can see the quality difference if you watch it in HQ or HD compared to the standard player.

It was rendered in Quality VBR at 100%, I think. 32-bit floating point pixel format. Assymetric gaussian blur was used as the motion blur type, and the deinterlacing method was set to blend fields.

I'm not sure if it's just the footage, though, because in the game it gets pretty motion blur-heavy, which poses a problem in video compression in general.

Any ways to work around this? Getting rid of motion blur really isn't an option. Help would be appreciated.

I heard it's just a slider version of the W302, though, which got lots of bad reviews especially since it's not a true Sony Ericsson and uses some Sagem platform or something.

[WTA] Sapphire HD 4850 with/without dual-slot fan

I've heard that Sapphire has been slowly replacing their first run of HD 4850 cards(standard red PCB and cooler, with their infamous high temperatures) with another version featuring a dual-slot cooler(this version has a blue PCB), but at the same price.

I was wondering of the Sapphire HD 4850s on sale in Low Yat Plaza now are the updated versions with the dual-slot coolers or the vanilla old and hot ones. Or if the dual-slot cooler version is sold at a higher price(which is just mean, given that Sapphire released the thing at the very same price as the old HD 4850).

Note: I'm not talking about the Toxic version.
