Laptop vs TV Box

So i've been delaying buying a >40" LED TV for some time already. Bought one 55" for living room during CNY.

I can't decide which brand but definitely buying dumb TV. Like many /k, i watch banyak movies, anime, MTV both streaming and lanun.

I used to have AC Ryan connected to my current old CRT TV. It was good but when watching anime, some subtitles memang out of alignment. No prob on PC ofcourse.

So....
1. Apa brand LED TV Full HD >40" is value for money? No need Smart TV, just Dumb TV will do. (nothing bigger than 46" becoz cannot fit small room)
2. Is it better to use the laptop as your media box instead comparing to a dedicated TV Box?

Since many ghost tered, I'll add another one.

My colleague's wife used to work at Sheraton Imperial. She said there's one room that they'll never use because a lady committed suicide wearing all red.

Then one busy day, ang moh couple checked-in and she assigned that room to the couple by mistake. The couple came back down saying there's already ppl in the room.

They saw a lady in red combing her hair, the ang moh just said sorry and went back down.

She immediately realized and assigned a different room to the couple without saying anything.

I'm in the IT industry doing sales. Lately, I'm feeling kinda lost and depressed. I'm not sure if my present job is causing this. The last 2 months I've been feeling down, short-tempered and I don't enjoy doing things I used to like. I don't enjoy going to movies, reading, playing my PS3, etc anymore. I'm in my current company for more than 1 year now.
I normally can handle stress quite well and I've been in the sales line since my career started.

Been getting a lot of tahi from my peers in the work place. Well, I'll put everything down below. So you tell me if it's just me or is my current job making me more and more depressed.

1. My technical team is incompetent and unhelpful. They seem to be quite unwilling to lift the finger to help solve any technical issues. Most of the time, the answer from them is, "it cannot be done". But after doing some research on my own, it can be done. I always have to do this part whenever customer is facing any technical difficulties during a project. Are they too busy? Nopes.....they hardly have anything to do. I brought this up countless times to my boss but everything is still the same after 1 year. Nothing changed. Basically, I'm doing half their job without getting paid for it.

2. The management set a new direction for the sales dept. that resulted in offending some of my customers. I've debated this issue with the boss, but it's strictly his way or no way. As a result I've lost a few good customers. Personally, I don't think the new direction is a good idea. I'm open to changes but not to the extend of offending some of the key customers. (This is hardly the reason but just want to put it up)

3. Some of my colleagues like to just show temper in the office over small issues making the environment very uneasy. It does not happen often but during my 1 year + there, it happened enough. There's also a lot of politics though we have a single digit workforce. Office politics is normal but not till this extend.

I've tried to make changes but only get black faces in return. So I just follow the flow. All this makes me feel like I'm a failure and can't meet some customer's demands. I know we can't meet 'em all, but even over small demands we can still fail to meet due to lack of support from the technical side. The pay is good but I hate waking up every morning to go to work. I'm feeling very useless now.

Anyway, just want to rant and get this off my chest. For those of you who read the long post, I thank you.
