SUV owner nightmare: Tire extinguishers

Do you drive an SUV? Then you might become a target for the environmental activists：Tire Extinguishers, that are after your tires. The movement had just begun in the U.S. after having a successful start in the UK.

A group of environmentalists claimed it let the air out of the tires of dozens of SUVs in a couple of neighbourhoods in Kitchener over the weekend.

A spokesperson for Waterloo Regional Police told Global News in an email that the incidents occurred early Sunday in Glasgow Heights and Stanley Park.

“We received more than 30 reports of tires being deflated. They were not slashed and there was no other damage done to the vehicles,” the spokesperson told Global News in an email.

“All the vehicles targeted were SUVs and a note was left on the windshield that stated, ‘Your gas guzzler kills.’”

They said the suspect or suspects targeted one or two tires on each of the vehicles.

In a press release, a group known as The Tyre Extinguishers claimed to be behind the mischief, saying it had received “angry emails” after it had deflated tires on 60 vehicles in the “affluent” neighbourhoods.

The Tyre Extinguishers launched in England earlier this year before spreading out to several other countries, including the U.S.

The group claims this is the first targeted action in Canada.

They even gives specific instructions on how to deflate an SUV's tire in less than 10 seconds without doing any permanent damage, and it makes clear that the mission here isn't simply to make

someone late for work. The group recommends targeting SUVs in posh or middle-class areas and then leaving a leaflet on the windshield explaining why their SUV now has a flat tire.

first time bought this type of ticket fare since I dont know if I will need checked baggage or not. Just called mh want to purchase checked baggage, guess what, MH is charging as extra baggage, not as normal checked baggage...rm25 per 5kg
ayam poor, always did the same thing on AA, manatau MH lain pulak...
anyway, lesson learned, better dont buy with lite fare if your travel date still far away

PETALING JAYA: There is no need to scan the MySejahtera app when filling up fuel or making payments at the pump when at petrol stations, says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Defence Minister, however, clarified that this only applied to those who made electronic payments at the pump.
He said those going into the convenience stores, surau or other facilities at the petrol stations would have to scan the MySejahtera app or register their details.

There was confusion earlier following a report quoting the police as saying that anyone filling fuel at petrol stations had to scan the MySejahtera app.

This was regardless whether the individual entered the station’s convenience store or otherwise.
