Discussion about Business Joint Ventures

Hi, I wish to discuss about business partnership, as I am considering to go into some joint ventures soon.

Lets use as an example a small food kiosk with start-up cost of RM50K and monthly fixed operating cost (rent + worker salary) of RM5K. And assume there are 2 partners.

1. Is it possible to split the start-up cost 80-20, but share the profits 60-40? Reason could be because Partner A is more of investor approach, whereas Partner B takes on additional duties such as sourcing for location, oversee the renovation, and when the business start running he supervise the daily operations such as inventory management and finance.

2. And if lets say the business makes a loss instead, what happens? Will the partners continue to put in money using the same 80-20 ratio?

In such an arrangement, what are the things that each partner must be careful of? It would be good if can share some real-life experiences also.
