Relocating to KL

Just curious how the response will be..

Need some little advise here.

Will be relocating to the nations's capital city in a month, found a place already (friend's place temporary for 3-4 months) but still looking for a good one for mid-term before settle down in Tokyo in 2019 or 2020.

Not really sure hows the rental system work but used to live in Tokyo, Seoul and Melbourne. (but never live in KL).
Do I have to pay Deposit and any related key money for the landlord? or just 1 month deposit and am ready to move in anytime?

How much is current rental for a Studio Loft or just a Studio apartment?
Is it cheaper to rent a typical 2 bedroom apartment?

To be honest, I prefer to rent a space for myself because I will be doing most of my post-production work at home and also home cook all the time.
I only go out when meeting client at cafes or their offices, Photoshoot at studio or outdoor and other gigs etcs.

Since I have nothing to do since I'm back in Malaysia.
Decide to open a new thread and share my experience working in Japan.

Am from Sabah, Ghetto area of Putatan district. Just below the capital city Kota Kinabalu. or where the Airport located at, yup that's literally in Putatan district although the land own by KK City Council.
Am One of the minority where I have to tick "others" or "dan lain-lain" all the time.

Graduate from Australian University, and then out of the blue after working as journalist for a local own-state online news (which is already closed after the GE).
With my 'Follow your bloody heart and go where you wanna go'.

I chose Tokyo as my first step to start my career. The only 'Gaijin' in the creative agencies and lack of Japanese language efficient. It took 3-4 months for me to digest the lifestyle, working culture and understanding their ethical value of daily life.
Somehow, it only lasted for 2 years due to family matters here in Sabah. I have to cancel my visa and working contract and now doing freelance back in KK City.

I will post and share my experience here once in a while.

Nevertheless, if you have any interests or question regarding working or starting a career in Japan (especially creative industry).
Do not hesitate to ask me, will try my best to answer the question.

As far as I know, there's only 5000 registered Malaysian in Japan.
Majority of them living in Tokyo and Osaka.

Bad Luck

Really had bad luck this time because one of strobe broken due to mishandling luggage in airport.

Luckily only the Flash-tube and Glass Dome broken. Still replaceable.

Due to there's no policy insurance coverage for Camera Equipment in Malaysia.
I cannot claim anything from it... But because I cannot purchase the spare parts locally, have to wait for 14 days to 1 month for the items reach where I based.

So for those who working solo independent without any crew/assistant.
Always make sure pack your stuff nicely... And check your stuff before exit from the pick-up luggage area.

Due to rush for another photoshoot to different location upon land.
Only found out it broken when I unpack to setup for the next photoshoot.

This post is just a reminder for those who have the same career like me.
