Europe Trip Report - Flying MAS

Hi guys,

Thought I'd share my thoughts of my recent trip to Europe flying MAS return from Perth -> KL -> London Heathrow and then joining a Trafalgar European Whirl trip 4 days later Travelling for 2 people.

Bought our tickets, chose our seats without issues. Had to reschedule a cancelled Perth -> KL bound flight to the earlier one but was no biggie, we were given a hotel voucher in KL before continuing on to London.

Waiting in the Golden Lounge to freshen up before the 13 hours flight.

Plenty of leg room. Lie flat beds are awesome and we reached London feeling fresh and full of energy.

In flight entertainment was plentiful, air stewardess service was great, my nasi lemak has timuns , and we were able to book our meals from an extensive menu days before the flight.

*Will update with more in-flight pictures later when I get it from my DSLR camera, these are taken on my phone*

All in all, we are happy with the product and service levels received, flight was smooth, and food/drink are plentiful. For those in doubt of MAS, do try it yourself when you have the chance.

One W205 C Class

Hi guys,

Not a complete dilemma but would like to seek your thoughts.

I am eyeing the W205 C-Class and the launch date is probably somewhere July/Augusy 2014 in Australia.

For the price of the Benz I can get me 2 pretty well fitted jap/korean cars.

No issues paying for the C class but would it be smarter to just get a well specced asian car?

This is probably a mind over heart issue

What are your thoughts?

Unfit to fly due to sickness, ticket changing?

Good day travellers,

Anyone has any experience here in term of changing flight dates due to being unfit to fly?

Flights: AU->KL->Vietnam->KL->AU

Scenario:

1. Was travelling with a group to Vietnam
2. On the last day before we return to KL, where we will then board another flight to AU, members of the group got food poisoning.
3. Went to hospital etc in Vietnam and managed to fly back to KL, but was deemed unfit to fly to AU by KLIA medical centre, certificates etc provided.
4. Went to ticket counter to change to next flight, saying that our group were deemed unfit to fly.
5. The ticket lady said nope they can't do nothing and charged us more than the initial ticket cost to fly on the next one.
6. Were quite sick at that time and just paid.

Is there any ground to ask MAS about this? I understand if they were to charge admin fees etc but charging for more than our first ticket to fly on the next one is quite questionable.

Any insights from seasoned travellers here?

Hello guys

So I have been given a monetary gift (15k) for my upcoming wedding and I get to choose whatever I want.

Not sure what to get though as I dont like expensive watches,gold and branded apparels etc.

I do however like gadgets and have shortlisted some.

1. Olympus OMD
2. Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
3. PS Vita
4. Wii U

Any other gadgets that I should be looking out for?

Any sensible inputs will be appreciated!

Patience levels in the digital age

Hi guys

Just a thought for discussion

Do you think that there is a relationship between the speed of access to information (boradband, internet, social media etc) being reflected into our patience levels as a whole?

For example, were we patient drivers before the arrival of broadband and mobile internet? Does having the luxury of high speed information access affect our thinking that there shouldn't be obstacles in our way? Examples could be slower cars on the right lane and long queues at venues which quickly tests your patience.

A recent example of patience being tested is seeing people yelling at the oven for food the to be cooked faster

HD LCD TV for pc gaming?

Dear Forumers,

I would like to get a new PC next year in line with some games that i want to play being released and already have a budget for it already. However, ive been thinking lately because i would like to play my games using large screen and the 28" Viewsonic LCD monitor fits my need nicely. As far as i know, full HD TVs support 1920 X 1080 resolution, which is where my question came from. Are they usable to play pc games on high resolution?

Because if they can, i might need to set a new budget to get a nice one to compliment the new PC. Anyone with experience or suggestions about using HDTV to play pc games are welcome.

So you have 500k to spend on a car, will you go directly to one car which costs almost 500k? say BMW 5 series or 2 not so expensive cars such as one Audi TT and the left over for civic, camry, etc.

Car mirror safety

With the increasing amount of car break ins and car window smashing, i've been seeing some advertisements in the papers and magazines about those UV + security films being offered. As the articles claimed that these films can withstand heavy blows to the windows and will not shatter in the event of the window being smashed, i find it quite amazing about what it can do. Are these just marketing gimmiks or do they work as these advertisements claim?

I wouldnt mind putting one into my car if they really work. Any people here installed any of it?

Data recovery

Dear forumers,

I would like to ask if it is possible to retrieve data back from a PC which has a juzt-reboot card installed? (those pc protection thing where whatever u have modified will be erased once the pc restart, unless you go in as admin).

The problem goes like this:

1. Copied files into the pc from a xD-Card with the intention of burning the pictures.
2. After finish copying, formatted xD-Card from the camera.
3. PC restarted suddenly, everything gone.

Tried some recovery software but cant seem to find it either on the HDD or the xD-Card.

Just like to know if it is possible to recover from this or not ?
And if it is, what is the best software to use?

2 LCD TV one DVD player

Dear Forummers,

I have this situation now. I have 2 LCD TVs that needs to be connected to one single DVD-Player. However, the place already have a VGA cable connected to the ports which is available to be used. Would it be possible to find a converter to convert the VGA cable to be able to use with the DVD's Red, white, and Yellow slots (component slot if im not mistaken?)

And how can i make the 2 TV show the same thing from one DVD player?

Registering a business name

I've been to the government website to look at the process of registering a business name and it said that the name should get prior approval before i can register it. I've looked around the website but could not find any info about what to do to register the business name. Any people here can enlight me with their experience?

Will fluctuating voltage

Hello LYN members,

I'm currently using power cables that are of low quality (bout half the thickness of the standard computer power cable) and i was wondering if that will cause my PC to hang as the power supply around my area is subject to fluctuation.

Just doing a research if i need to change the power cables as i know it shall be safer but will it be the culprit that causes the PC to hang?
