Breakthrough in search for missing cosmetics millionaire

BANTING, MALAYSIA - Police believe they have made a major breakthrough in the investigation into the disappearance of cosmetics millionaire Datuk Sosilawati Lawiya and three others with the arrests of six suspects.

They have cordoned off a site at a poultry farm belonging to one of the suspects, where excavation work was expected to be carried out today.

Police at the site said last night that a forensics team from Federal police headquarters in Bukit Aman would be conducting investigations today.

It is believed that police recovered several items belonging to the four at the same farm near Teluk Gadong in Tanjung Sepat.

One of the suspects arrested is believed to be a lawyer while another is his brother.

There has been no word from Sosilawati, 47, the founder of the Nouvelle Visages beauty line, her lawyer Ahmad Kamil Abdul Karim, 32, banker Noorhisham Mohammad, 38, and driver Kamarudin Shansudin, 44, since they went missing on Aug 30.

They were said to have gone to Banting to meet a lawyer about the purchase of a plot of land. Since then, a task force from Bukit Aman has interviewed family members of the missing four, business associates and friends.

On Sept 6, Sosilawati's car, a BMW X5, was found at the car park of the Angsana Apartments in USJ1, Subang Jaya. Later the same day, a BMW 5-series belonging to Ahmad Kamil was found near the Grand Dorsett Hotel in Subang Jaya
