HDD not appearing in Disk Management

Guys,I just bought a Samsung 750GB SATA HDD,7200 RPM,model number is HD753LJ.Help me out on this please cos I bought it for RM210...So expensive.

Now,I'm running XP PRO SP3 on an old IDE 40GB hard drive.So I just plugged this new HDD in,then the booted up the PC.Then when reach desktop,a pop up balloon at bottom right of taskbar said 'New hardware is detected',somewhere along those lines...

Problem is,it doesn't show up in Disk Management.How am I supposed to format it if I can't see it??

In Device Manager,under 'SCSI and RAID Controllers',got:

NVIDIA nForce 590/570/550 Serial ATA Controller
NVIDIA nForce 590/570/550 Serial ATA Controller
NVIDIA nForce 590/570/550 Serial ATA Controller
NVIDIA nForce™ RAID Class Controller

When I right-click the first Nvidia nforce controller,which is the first one at the above list,and click Properties,under Primary Channel got list the drive as a Master Drive..

So guys any help please?I have tried using the Samsung Disk Manager here:http://www.samsung.com/global/business/hdd/support/utilities/Support_DiskManager.html

But that one after boot using the floppy,I can't use the mouse or keyboard to select anything because it's in DOS mode,that's another problem..

So guys help out please?Don't want waste my money. And if you help me out your post count will increase too!!

Could it be because of my old IDE 40GB HDD?Maybe it interfere??

Unable to boot from CD or DVD

Guys I'm unable to boot from CD or DVD.I put my Vista installation DVD into my CDROM,restart my computer,and then it will say 'Press any key to boot from CD or DVD'.I press also nothing.It will continue with this '....'.Then it will load Windows XP Pro.

I have set my BIOS settings to Boot from CDROM first.

Could it be the DVD problem?

Interesting topic title?

I read in PC Gamer that when installing a mobo,must not screw it directly on to the chassis,if not it will be fried.Is that true?So how to install a motherboard?

And guys when you all take out all your gc,ram and etc. to take out your mobo,where do you put those stuff at?On the bare floor or on a piece of paper or what?

And before I install a new motherboard which has a different chipset,should I uninstall my current chipset to avoid conflict?If I still use the same gc,i nonit to uninstall the gc driver right?

Suitable motherboard for my rig

My current mobo is Abit KN9 SLI and I'm thinking of replacing it.The rest of my components is Athlon 64 X2 4200+,8600GT,and 3GB RAM.

My budget is around RM300.

How to make processor less hot?

My CPU temperature according to SpeedFan is around 50+ degrees when idle and load around 60+ degrees..

I'm scared that too high temp will spoil the processor faster.

So what methods are there to make the processor less hot other than using a CPU cooler?I see people's processor when idle only around 30+ degrees...

Can I downgrade my RAM's MHZ?

Like for example I want do dual channel but one of my RAM is only 667 mhz,so if i buy another same type of RAM,the mhz is 800.

So it won't run in dual channel.The MHZ are different.So how do I solve this?Can I downgrade the 800mhz RAM to 667mhz or push the 667mhz RAM to 800mhz?

If push to 800mhz,are there any consequences?

CPU and System Temperature.

Guys when i check my CPU and System temperatures through AbitEQ,a utility for Abit motherboards to check the computer temperature,they put 37 degrees for System Temperature and 67 degrees for CPU Temperature.

When they mean CPU,it means the processor itself right?So like example if u touch the proc with ur bare hands,u will feel 67 degrees of pain.

And when they mean System Temperature,they mean the temperature of the air inside the casing?

Am I right guys?

Why installing things takes a long time?

Guys why is it that my computer takes such a loooong time to install softwares?My proc is a AMD Athlon 64 3200+,and my gc is 8600GT,and I have 1GB RAM.

My friend of mine who has Pentium D could install GTA IV in 30 minutes whereas for me,it took more than 3 hours!

Could it be the HDD problem?I bought my computer around 5 years+ ago and the HDD came with it.Maybe it's old already?I don't know what is the brand of my HDD though.Maybe Seagate?Or Western Digital.

So anyone could provide tips on how to improve installation time?Even after reformatting the computer and then installing stuff,it takes a loong time too.

Sorry for opening 2 threads about this,but I must ask,can my rig which have a AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+,a Geforce 8600GT 256MB DDR3 and 1GB RAM be able to run GTAIV on low settings?Based on this video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCDL5oWhJVo&feature=related.i think it's possible.

And if run on a AMD Athlon 64 X2 4450e,will it be able to run too?

Question bout GTAIV system requirements

Ok,the minimum system requirements for GTAIV is AMD Athlon 64 X2 2.4 GHZ.

They just put there 2.4 GHZ.So that means X2 models like 3800+ won't be able to run it because it is only 2.0 GHZ?And also 4200+ because it is only 2.2 GHZ?

And 5200+ can because it is 2.7 GHZ?

1.AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ etc. is equal to Core 2 Duo.Am I right?X2 is equal to Core 2 Duo...

2.Then how about Quad Core?It is AMD Phenom or something like that right?
