dear forum admin:

after browsing the folding@home official news blog:
http://folding.stanford.edu/home/blog

an idea come out to promote folding@home to lowyat forumer, as illustrated below:
create a small folding@home section/widget to show the Current PPD of our folding team on lowyat forum page, and a folding@malaysia forum link.
(rough design at the first stage)

the main aim of this suggestion is to let more forumer aware about the existence of the folding@home project,
and hopefully more volunteer can join and help out the medical community to find cure for certain diseases.

the main suggested location to place the section/widget is indicated in the red rectangle:

so that the section/widget will always appear in whatever forum they browsed, for example:

if not encourage or appropriate to add this section/widget in the main suggested location (red rectangle),
can we have a section in "board statistics" section to show our folding team Current PPD, as indicated in the orange rectangle:

any suggestion are welcome. thank you.

here is the original post in folding@malaysia forum:
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3063429

Gigabyte G1.Sniper Gaming Edition X58 Motherboard

Gigabyte G1.Sniper X58 review

QUOTE

I mean you guys read the ASUS rampage III Black edition review not to long ago, and now it's time to go to Gigabyte. They decided to spice up and refresh their X58 series motherboards as well, armed with a snazzy marketing theme they wanted to build something for the true gamer and not so much the uber hardcore overclock -- and that might just work out really well for them.

And with much success, the Killer series was born, with good looks, excellent performance, great overclockability and then in addition to it all extra's, adding a SATA 6G controller, USB 3.0, but also the BigFoot KillerNIC has been integrated into this motherboard, and... Realtek audio? Heck it's been kicked out. There's actually a fully fetched Creative Labs X-Fi (20K2) DSP mounted into the motherboard to bring better audio capability into your PC. All in all it's a very impressive motherboard not only features wise, yet also in terms of sheer design. The motherboard as tested today actually brings back memories of the early X58 motherboards from eVGA styling wise with the black PCB and the green colored PCie slots. And considering these are good memories, heck have a look yourself, meet the Gigabyte G1 Sniper gaming edition motherboard as the design is a sheer class on its own.

QUOTE

Check that out, no more realtek codecs, finally a manufacturer that has the balls to go a little more extreme. That's a 20k@ Creative labs Audio processor, the X-Fi, the memory next to it even indicates some extra memory for the DAP. Pretty much you have a fully fetched soundcard on-board with access to the entire Creative labs audio software suite, and that is just great. See them yellow and right from iT green capacitors? These are quality Nichicon MUSE ES series and MW series Bi-Polarized audio capacitors COVERING each channel layout.

this question is apply on both Intel (LGA775, LGA1156) and AMD (AM3, AM2+, AM2) system.

want to ask, when we push the base clock up, will the PCI clock rise too on both system?
or the motherboard will auto locked it at 33.33MHz?
since PCIe clock can be manually locked at 100MHz.

for example, using Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3 (rev. 2.1) on AMD system,
and Asus P5Q Deluxe on Intel system.

because i can't found the PCI clock synchronization mode on these motherboard.
but i can found the PCI clock synchronization mode on Asus P5B Deluxe.
