Mobo Kaput!

Hi all, recently, my mobo giving the FF code error and is unable to boot. Checked with EVGA and did all the diagnostics but still no success!

It's that time again (after a very long time), that I change the mobo and sadly, I need to change the CPU and RAM. Therefore, I need suggestions on what is good and what I should consider.

So far, I have would like to change to the below:

- Mobo: i5-3470 (budget around RM500)
- Ram: Kingston HyperX 8GB (budget around RM200)
- Gigabyte Z77X-D3H (budget around RM500)

Since I'm growing old, I don't really play games anymore so the things I will be re-using are:

- Coolermaster PSU (700W)
- HDD (might sneak in a Plextor SSD since price now is quite nice)
- Graphics card

Would like to see what all you sifu has to say on the above. Do comment! Thanks!

After I have gotten by iPhone 5, I have been experiencing really slow appstore and podcast download. Upon searching up and down in google and trying multiple "methods" to fix this didn't work for me.

Not until I tried reverting back to Unifi's DNS server: BOOM, my download was back to normal speed. Previously, I was using Google's DNS servers but now I think that's what causing my slow downs.

From what I can gather, some people of also facing the same with their iPad mini.

P.S. The iOS 6.0.2 patch didn't even fixed this issue.

IPTV and Unifi Over 1 Cable

I'm wondering if you all face the same problem with me. I want to use TL-SL2210WEB switch to combine my IPTV and Unifi to 1 single cable. At the receiving end, I will be using TL-SL2210WEB again to split it up. Is this possible? Has anyone tried it?

Currently, I have the Asus router and it's work great. I used to use HomePlugs but my electrician tell me if I want to use the Powertune (save your electricity cost), I cannot use the HomePlugs.

I hope you guys can shed some light on this. Thanks!

[WTA] Toyota Camry Problem

Hi all, I'm currently driving a 2007 Toyota Camry and I have this problem which is driving me nuts.

When I'm going over humps, there's a clicking/ knocking and squeaking sounds coming from the front driver side. It seems like a shocks or suspension problem but when I listen from outside, there is no sound at all.

From what I read in Camry Asia forums, this seems like a common problem for Camry. Apparently is due to something between the shocks and transmission. However, what is it no one has told me. I want to know what it is to prevent workshops ripping me off by changing this and that.

To all Camry owners, please help! My wedding dinner is soon and I want the car to be 100%.

3rd Party Insurance Claim

Hi all, I just met with an accident 2 days ago. What happened was I was driving to Cheras on the SKVE and I slowed down when the traffic became congested. Suddenly, a taxi crash into my back. After some negotiations, the taxi driver wanted to settle it via insurances as the total damage was more than he can afford. I agreed and we made the police reports. The Sargent found him to be at fault and saman him. So now here it becomes very foggy. I have been told the process is like this:

1) Send my car to my insurance's panel workshop while bringing the police report, vehicle card, insurance policy.
2) Obtain the Keputusan report from the police.
3) Workshop will get greenlight from my insurance company and proceed with repairs.
4) Once repairs is complete, I will need to pay the Excess fee.
5) Then my insurance company will deal with the taxi driver's insurance company.

Is the procedure above correct? I'm claiming against that reckless taxi driver's insurance. Which brings me to a few questions:

1) Why do I need to pay the excess fee? I'm not in the wrong also. Why do I have to pay a cent for someone else's damage?
2) I heard there's this Lost of Use which is payable to me. How does this work? I need this as I don't have car to go to work when I send my car in for repairs!
3) Will be NCB be forfeited? I personally don't think so as I'm not at fault.
4) Do I have to go get the Keputusan report myself from the police? :/

Has anyone experienced the same thing as me? Appreciate if you could shed some light on this. Thanks!

I'm trying to connect my pc to my 37" LCD. My graphics card can do HDMI but for the sound to go thru the HDMI, I will need to connect my SPDIF connect on my mobo to the graphics card.

Problem is... I lost mine! Does lowyat sell those? My graphics card is a XFX 9800GTX.

Setting WinXP Pro as a DHCP Server

To all the Network gurus out there, hope you all can give me an idea on how to set up WinXP Pro as a DHCP server.

Currently, I have a file server that runs on WinNT. Fortunately, WinNT has a DHCP server service. Therefore, any client pc connected to this file server (through a SWITCH) can obtain an ip and access the mapped drive on each client's pc.

However, I wish to upgrade from WinNT to WinXP. The problem is WinXP Pro might not have a DHCP services. I have tho about alternative solutions and they are:

1) Get a router that has DHCP function.
2) Set static ip to all pc. (I don't really want to do this...)

I am open for suggestions. Thank you!!!

TM.Net claims (if it's the truth) that 20% of it's customers are abusing their own ADSL connections. Also, economically it's not sound to upgrade it's infrastructure just for minorities.

Unfortunately in the world of technology, money (and statistics) is still the main player. For example, we are now using IPV4 but did you know IPV6 was out long time ago? It wasn't immediately implemented due to extreme cost to convert from V4 to V6.

If they can control the minorities and keep things under control to give you good QoS (if they do), isn't it good? Think about it. Let TM.Net try something new. If this really works, then you'll have stable, reliable and timely ADSL internet connection. If it doesn't work, then we all shall know the real truth.
